Basic Proportions of the Face - Christopher Hart Lady: hi christopher. i wanted to say how much i admire your art and thank you for al the drawing tutorials you have been sharing with the world. i can see only ten precent of what a normal person can see but i love drawing so much that i have never stopt trying to create what comes to mind. you have made it posible for me to learn more because of the easy steps and coments. and that is what makes me a big fan of yours. the most besar part of it all is that without knowing, i have had 9 books of yours. i spent many hours drawing examples as art practice by choosing images from them; . funny that i never made the connextion up to now. i will be buiying some new books in the near future. once again thank you sooo much. for making it posible for me to learn more about the tecnical side of drawing. aspecialy because of the fact that i am not able to see depth and details; )
bright blessings to you and yours
Tereza

I bought your book (Figure It Out - Human Proportions) and I'm finding it very helpful. What I'm struggling with is the initial shape of the head. It's proving tricky to accurately reproduce and lacks a defined width/height relationship. Most tutorials draw a circle for the top of the head and have centre lines that protrude from the circle at certain lengths. If you get that initial 'egg' shape wrong the rest of the features don't fall into place correctly. Any tips?

As an absolute beginner who was deemed hopeless at drawing in primary school and has never held a pencil in his hand since, I learned a lot from this video lesson. Videos often show what books never can, but I would definitely get these books, and I probably will. These are books every kid should try. Especially those who, like myself, were told they could never do it. Thank you for sharing your experience.

sir, how do you only have to erase once in this video. When I'm drawing I erase up to 10 times on a single line, I'm beginning to lose confidence in my drawing skill. My mom says that I'm a really good drawer but it's only because she's my mom. Should I keep practicing or stop because drawing is what I do when I'm bored or making a character for a game that I'm going to play outside.

Thank you so much for the help. I couldn't find a simple video for drawing a mans face until I came upon this. It helped a lot because before this I only knew how to draw female faces so most of my men drawings turned out to look very feminine. It was a good video and I think it could help anyone because I'm 13 and mine turned pretty good, well at least I think so. Thanks again!

Well, you are going way too fast so i cant keep up, im a BEGINNER!
Next time if you want to teach someone how to draw a face go SLOWLY and explain what you are doing! how much height? widh? how do i draw a shape without it looking like an egg, pretend you are a beginner and that you learned how to draw just yesterday

I drew this a lot and thank you for you I started to draw great faces. You explain very well! Better than other artists in the world. Even if other ones draw more pretty, but you draw AND explain so other ones can learn to draw. You are amazing Mr. Hart!

This is perfect! Thank you so much for doing this. I've been reading books but they are SO TECHNICAL, which is a good thing, but difficult for me. I'm a show, don't tell kind of learner, and you just made my day!

You are a wealth of information and talent, thank you so much for sharing it with the world! Also, Your books are great but personally I learn better from demonstration, so thank you for uploading these videos!

Went too fast. You have talent, but I don't. So I can't draw this anyhow. I wanted some tips for drawing my brother, but. All the time I have put into my Art is a waste. No tutorials seem too help. Oh well.
