It's been 1. 5 years since I set up my dragon fruit alley here at the Epic Homestead, and they've grown in well. but I need to prune them back and assess their health to make sure they keep producing for years to come. Darkshizumaru: I've been growing some baby Ecuador variety from seed, they are tiny little things but have been slowly getting thicker over time. It's going to be a VERY long time before I have to worry about trimming anything off, but thank you for sharing. My little seedlings are about a year and a a half now, I don't expect them to get too big for at least a few more years. It's been really confidence building growing avocados and dragon fruit from seed when I was sure my thumb was far from green.

What does a dragon fruit taste like? I saw some at the store; but, they were kind of pricey. One dragon fruit cost more than two mangoes. I asked the produce guy if he had tried it and he said that it was kind of flat. He said that most of the other tropical fruit taste better.

Last year i sowed a bunch of supermarket dragonfruit seeds. On try 2 i ended up with 9 plants. They have been in and out the house to keep them away from the cold. They are now an average of 10cm tall. Cant wait for them to get that big. 4 more years to go as I heard.

I live in Canada and grew some from seed 5 years ago. I recently pruned and have several new ones. I have seen some in green houses in hanging pots, quite robust looking! Does anyone in a cold winter place grow these and what is your experience? Any insight?

I started some from the grocery store (insane germination rate/success) and it's at about 4 and growing new sections.
Not a practical thing to grow in Wisconsin, but, I'm crazy enough to put a giant cactus in the corner of my indoor grow area.

I was half expect Jacque to show up in a dragon costume and Kevin would be taming the beast (ie. dragon Jaqcue magical ruler of dragon alley) by pruning and caring for the dragon fruit

50-50 mix of hydrogen peroxide - I assume that is 3% hydrogen peroxide (so 1. 5% final dilution?
50% might turn you cactus to goo.
Stored incorrectly, it will turn to water.

I'm in a cold area so I've got mine indoors. Unfortunately, my cats decided to use the pot as a litter box! Right now it looks like just 1 of them was negatively affected.

i actually just got home from my grandmothers house where I grew a dragon fruit tree and then I come home to this video, what a sweet coincidence

One of my regrets is planting my DF plants in a 15 gal pot. I'm dreading for the day we need to transplant it all because of the spikes lol

I love the Felco gloves you are wearing, but the website version is nitrile. Do they still make the version you are wearing?
