Cress microgreens are an interesting crop to grow, and have a different taste than most of the other microgreens out there. They have a few interesting quirks to them as far as growing goes as well, so be sure to watch!

What a great, clear, concise tutorial! I just got my seeds from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, but I saved your everwilde link since I'm from Wisconsin: ) even though I live in central florida. I'm going to try the grow once and harvest method, and the cut and come again method, to see what works in my windowsill. I have four huge organic beds outside, and just want something nutritious, quick, and well, non-labor intensive like my other crops. I've got no greens at all now, and miss them terribly. Watercress seems like a super-nutritious option to grow indoors where it's kinda sorta almost cool-ish. Thanks for the very best video - I'll check out your others, too.

Hi I'm having trouble growing my Cress microgreens. The roots keep growing above the soil rather than down into the soil and my cress germinates lying down rather than growing upwards. The cress seeds are also very gel like and keep sticking to each other thus when germinating the stems all get matted and stuck to each other. How do I fix this?

This and chickpeas was the first thing we learned to grow at school. Been years since I had it but on a cracker with soft cheese and cue, bloody delish.
A tub is just 25p a large box is 70p.
Imo it's a great looking little plant, I used it in a rockery. No sowing no care, just tossed the seeds and watered 3 times a week.

just get a pair of scissors, why are we wasting electricity on this, the whole idea of eating peasant food and saving the planet dose not involve computers and tvs etc, yeh we are so green, this is mental, im off for a egg and cress sandwich, i love, them, have a nice day,

That however is not water cress, its garden cress (a different type, it does not contain the same nutrients of watercress. I do grow both garden and watercress, but while garden cress its easy and fast, watercress is quite complicated. It is very fragile while young.

I have recently started getting into the world of planting and cress was the first microgreen I chose to grow. The main reason I was drawn to planting cress seeds was the speed as which it grows. Does anyone know of anything else that grows at approximately this speed?

What do you do with garden cress? is it used like pepper? We have a good amount of it in the garden right now, and the plants are about half the size before they go to seed, which we collected tons of seeds from in the spring and summer already from just a few plants.

This is the bad harvesting u kill all the plants if u cut over the center of plant and let it grew again u will get good and strong plants and big leaves every time u cut and still with u all winter u can cut it every three or four days we do this all time

In the beginning of the video, you said at times you grow them beyond microgreen size and use them for soup, would you please make a short video on how you do this. When I tried to grow past the microgreen size, they get leggy and fall over. Thanks!

wonder if we can put a little bit of hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle with lots of water and keep them lightly misted to avoid the mold. please answer if you can, or anyone out there that has tried this please comment. thanks

What variety of cress? Upland cress (Barbarea verna) is not watercress (Nasturtium Officinale. Looks like Upland cress.
Paper towel between seeds & soil can reduce soil contamination when harvesting.

Would you be able to show us Chervil microgreens? I know they can be a little more difficult but it would be nice to see it done in detail by an experienced Gardner such as yourself. Cheers!

Yo ykno appreciate you making this video, few questions, where do you store your pre mixed soil? Do you cover it? Also is the soil after the fact useful? Or should you just dispose of it?
reply

I think the best way is to leave a slight lip between soil and top of pot. That way you can just run the knife right across the surface of the pot for a perfect harvest
reply

Hey, what do you do with the soil once you've harvested? I know nothing about soil so if anyone could recommend any videos that would be much appreciated.
