Kingfisher Lake, Algonquin Park. Day 1 of a 3 day solo canoe trip on September 26, 2015.
I have to admit theres something about Kingfisher Lake that makes me want to stay longer even overnight if there was a campsite on the lake, which there is not. Maybe it has something to do with the weather and the time of day warm, sunny and close to noon with the sun high in the sky, yet with a coolness in the air and a lack of biting insects that only September can provide. Yet the lake itself offers something else, something that I cant quite put my finger on.

Solo: Do you always single portage Shawn? I solo canoe camp in the BWCA but I double portage and have been known to triple portage on longer trips. I put my bear barrel in its own pack, plus my canoe pack and canoe. Date: 2020-11-30
