I know this is a year later, Im not sure where your at with cleaning up your site. But your always building, n building creates debris. At some point you need to take time to enjoy what you have and out some projects on the back burner for a couple months or however long.
So you can wake up n read, forge, just do whats necessary to maintain life. But I dont have any experience with how your living. But I do know you need me time. But me time might be building things on your homestead. Thanks for sharing your life, I wish I could live like you, but life threw me a curve ball back in 2004 and another in 2010

I spent two years working away from the farm I built on raw land. When I returned the earth healed me.
You also play a healing role with your vids. . from the many comments.
Other builders chided me for putting down asphalt felt (or other substitutes) under my steel roofs, as not needed. There are so many reasons to do it.

myselfreliance I noticed about a 30 by 8 foot strip on the left side of the roof there was no membrane, my ocd is kicking in I have to ask is that due to lack of time or material or some other reason? Anyway I know you may not get to this. I appreciate all youve done for us on this journey! Its been inspiring and so much fun! Cheers brother.

There is a scene in the movie A Star is Born where Sam Eliot is talking about how lady gaga only uses 12 notes to create musical masterpieces that no one else can make. same with mother nature. it's the same 10 trees and red squirrels and deer, mushrooms and birds but I will NEVER tire of her visual and tactile songs.

sorry but you are not afraid of a bear attack? I see you walking, often, only with your knife and without the gun. how do you protect yourself against bears? why don't you bring at least one pistol? also useful if you encounter a snake or other animals that might attack you.

Nothing like gratitude. I am still torn between the beauty of Muskoka and the majesty of the mountains of B. C. I have snow on the mountains all around me again but I miss the fall colors of my home base. Thanks for all the work you do.
