I enjoy watching your building processes in structures, in the garden, and in the surrounding forest. It may be awhile before you run out of something to build. What will you direct your energy to at that time You are also philosophizing about your sustainability living. I find your thoughts intriguing. Your life style is possible for only a few, but it is a role model for those who can do it. Maybe your next building project will be reforestation in the adjacent lands to stabilize the animal population. You'll find a new adventure and we'll enjoy watching it evolve.

First time watching. Looks like you have an outhouse and didn’t have to go through the BS of having to put in a septic system BEFORE you built your house like where I have property in AZ. Not making a job for so dum ass that made bad life choices. You have what I want. Just need some dogs and life sustaining animals, simple shelter, and a place to cook and sleep. Beautiful! Might have to sell this property and look for another spot before I build a house. Simple life is so much better. Enjoy.

My dad laid the stone on our house. He used metal strips tacked to the house on one end and placed in cement between stones on other end. I notice you do not use them. Any particular reason Just curious. In 2006 the house was sold. Every stone in place after 56 years and still in good condition today. Like you, he was a skilled craftsman. I enjoy watching you work. Also enjoy Cali! I have very fond memories of my dad working on our house. Thanks for sharing.

Love the view from your front porch. The stones look like they fit right in with the overall look of you Cabin! Nice touch. Is Calli OK I know she's getting older but I miss watching her run after her toy and bringing it back and waiting patiently for you to throw it again! I love watching your videos because you talk very little and mostly work on your homestead. BTW Thank you for leaving in the loon call! ( Yep, I'm the Loon call Lady LOL)

You better get Cali checked out for heartworms if she’s not on some meds for it. Mosquitos are the carrier and it sucks to loose your dog to that. I lost my dog when I was about 14 years old. My blue healer was a good dog. Loved to lay out with our cows but she got heartworms and I didn’t know anything about them then. So, yeah, have the vet test her.

I'm not really a big fan of attaching the rock like that. I just don't trust it's durability (but maybe I'm wrong. I much prefer to have a foundation and stack the rock with concrete, like you would brick. and then attach brackets back to the wall at regular intervals. That takes a lot more concrete though, no doubt. lol

Back many years ago I lived in mosquito country big time, and other bugs as well. I wore a long sleeved shirt, and found some GI Jungle Juice, 100% DEET. I put the stuff on the brin of my hat, not on me. The bugs hovering around a few inches away was disconcerting, but kept them off my face and head.

Building with stone is a patient craft, each piece carefully placed like a promise to last. This outdoor kitchen and cabin reflect more than shelterthey show a deep connection to the land and the determination to live simply and strong. Every stone tells a story of quiet strength and resilienc

I think we are all getting much the same cold and rainy weather. The high here along the St. Lawrence is 11 today the 23rd, yesterday was the same, growth in the garden has stopped, it’s just bloody awful! Nice to see the outdoor kitchen being finished off. It looks great!

Take another 1x2 and nail it edge ways around the outer rim of your screen door and that will make it a lot more rigid; so it's not flopping around so easily. Doesn't matter if you nail it along the inside or outside; it will work either way. Whatever is easier.

Spray repellent on your dog for mosquitos (lemon juice spray etc. if you don't like to be eaten I am sure Callie doesn't either.
And weatherstrip the kitchen door, especially the gap at the bottom to fully keep bugs out

I will be interested to see how well those stones stay stuck. Did you use any chemical bonding additive to improve the sticking capacity, such a Cemstik, as we used it when doing a whole home outer Granite rock cladding

I was curious. I heard you mentioned in a recent video about not planting or eating vegetables. What was the reasoning for this, I thought planting and eating home grown veggies was a pretty healthy lifestyle
