Actually a good choice to put in a group of large fish, which are ready to reproduce. Research has shown that taking away all large fish in a pond will hurt the population of the species. Btw. the conclusion of that research was that repeatedly returning very large fish will stabilize the population better than only a minimum size limit. But maybe the bass suffered from inbreeding in that small pond - you fixed that for sure.

Talk more about the pond itself. It's your grandparents pond, but there are other houses around there. On the other video, you told an older couple about the size fish you'd put in the pond. I'll bet those will be fished out in a week, now that everyone knows they're there! How does ownership of the pond work? What stops everyone who knows about the pond fishing it out? Thanks!

I hate spoiling the fun, the but fish they caught from the pond could have parasites that are now introduced to the pond all the fish are going into, so you just risked all your fish population dying in this act. Think about it first, but I know that if would have known this, you wouldn't have done it, so good luck next time; )

A long time ago, my dad who hated a guy that had a beautiful pond, when he got the chance to catch a nice size pike, he threw it, in this guy's pond, that pike was never caught again, but the gold fish population got seriously dented, and the dude was wondering when his fish was going. He was blaming fishing birds.

Yes, some places it is illegal to transfer fish, I would just call Southeastern Pond Management you already look like you have a nice pond. They can help with a number of different issues, also There are other pond management or fish stocking companies.

I was down in the FLA back during Christmas and I hit up a few of the public lakes in Lakeland, shore fishing. I didn't do so well then, but the sheer amount of places to fish down there is amazing. I can't wait for the next trip.

Build the forage base up. Fertilize the pond so zooplankton can grow then the bait fish have something to eat and grow. I'd add some artificial structures too for the bait fish to flourish.
