When I go to my local lake and do a spot of fishing for cats. As soon as that line goes and it has hundred metres in seconds and then it-s locked up for about half an hour. And when you get it so close that you can see the swirls knowing it-s only 6 feet under but can-t see it. And then the line goes really slack and the hook pulls that is a feeling that you-re never gonna let go.
To me it-s like having your heart ripped out by a loved one saying that they don-t love you anymore is that bad when it comes to fishing. Keep up the amazing work. Dave

OMG! John, that female was MASSIVE! Way to go Tom! My 54yr old back says, you young chaps can fight all the 30-200lb fish you want. Anymore than 30lb and afterward I'd be lying on the rocks like some sorta distressed Mollusk. -0. o- - - -
If Hannah would've been there, she would've hooked at least two 300lb'rs on light tackle and in less than a minute they would've beached themselves. That's what's happened for 30yrs anytime my wife Jenn went with me. - - -

Can't believe these can be caught from the shore. the last one was a really beauty. Great information on the traces and rigs although after seeing the effort it takes to land them I would rather watch you boys catch them. biggest thing I ever caught on a beach caster was a couple of pounds so blown away to see some monsters caught on 8000 reels and Greys rods. Tight lines John Thanks for the half an hour entertainment with my Cuppa mate

Reading the newspapers this morning, I saw an article on the dramatic fall off in crab and lobster catches landed at Bridlington, Scarborough and Whitby. The Whitby based Locker family was mentioned. I hope the authorities get to the bottom of the cause and catches recover. What is the local fishing community saying about the situation? As an armchair fisherman, I really enjoy your videos by the way. Chris

Beautiful Skates!
Just about a week ago on a fun charter that we did where I got to fish a bit as well as work the deck I fought for about 20 mins and worn completely out when I got the beast to boat side it was about a 6 1/2 foot Sand Tiger Shark approximately 200 pounds.
What a beauty!
After a few pics it was released unharmed.
Take care again my friend.

Great video again John, and as a Scottish fisherman I can only thank you for keeping the mark to yourself. So many marks have been destroyed by the internet up here. Full of burned out tents and human excrement, the Whitby sea anglers forum has a lot to answer for with regards to what's happened to Skye. -

Thankyou for making fishing so interesting. As a young girl I sat very bored with my father fishing on the Rver Trent, or from Brighton Pier and never really got it, but captaving, educational and a real joy you made this, I know the locations and fish are very different but it was so enjoyable, thanks.

Brilliant video top class, I am from Inverness in the Highlands thanks for being respectful and not sharing the location. What I will say is the West Coast of Scotland has some of the best scenery in the world in my opinion, just watch out for the midges in the summer though.

What-s the point of dragging them out only to put them back! I-m down with fishing but just can-t see the point in taking them and potentially damaging them only to put them back, they would have been good eating surely? A few weeks worth of food on the last one!
