Again, people viewing will buy steak, hamburger, broccoli, whatever, when it is on sale. Your time and trip and expense to catch fish is 50x more than their trip to the grocery store. They don't slaughter each bull when there are enough people lined up to buy it. and the grocery stores get unconstitutional subsidies / tax write-offs for something like 5% of spoiled food, so whether it is bad or not, if people are not buying it, they throw it in the garbage (millions of tons a year) and write it off on their taxes. I am fairly certain NOTHING that you catch, Vic, ever goes to waste. and the oceans are FULL. individual fishermen could NEVER even make a dent in all that is out there; commercial harvesters, of course WOULD result in over fishing; but the amount some large fishing boats (like those on Deadliest Catch) could catch each day would be equivalent to about 10 of your entire boats in the hold of their ship. Correct me anywhere I am wrong or if I misspoke.

beets can also be made into a lacto-fermented drink called kvass. or an alcohol sugar-yeast fermented beet wine. Like sauerkraut juice, it is a bit of an acquired taste; and would be a great party trick if everyone thought that they were getting a nice dark red wine. lol Another fun thing to do is slice up cucumbers, having saved the brined from a few jars of bread and butter pickles, add the cucumbers, and add 2 full fresh okra sliced. then put in the fridge. in a week or so the brine will turn into something that looks like it was used in the movie Ghostbusters. and the guests will sure have a surprise when they fork out the first pickles. lol

At first I thought you meant that you were going to make mashed potatoes using beets; but you were speaking figuratively of how easily they mush. however, that does sound intriguing. beets, butter, sour cream into mashed beets. When I make mashed potatoes, I also like to use 1 sweet potato to 3 or 4 equal sized white potatoes, and some celery and onion boiled together, then all mashed, butter, sour cream, salt, pepper.

You are a terrific and responsible fisherman, but I’m Not liking the thumbnail. To me, a thumbnail like this is a big broadcast to irresponsible fisherman or those who are prone to being irresponsible, poachers or not, to just grab as many fish as you can get. My personal belief as a recreational fisherman is just to catch what is sufficient for a dinner. I throw back extra so the next guy can have a nice dinner.

refrigerate the honey, and it scoops out easier without dripping all over the lip and rim and side of the jar, and countertop; or you can take more of a level spoonful and twirl the spoon horizontally quickly, and transfer once it had stopped dripping (takes a bit of practice. but then you don't attract ants, have a sticky jar, or lids that get stuck closed because of honey in the rim and lid grooves.

You mentioned it was expensive to run the coast. QUANTIFY that in terms that people can understand. The cost of your boat and gear, insurance, the price of fuel per gallon, how many gallons, maintenance cost on the boat, and total time it took you to prepare for the trip, the trip itself, time cleaning the boat afterward, and time spent cleaning the fish.

Hello, im coming to ask if you could do a small video when you do your next large shark catch on how to gut and dehead it. I really want to learn, and I cant find it anywhere else, im just asking if you could post a small tutorial separate from the main video detailing the process. Up to you, and if you decide not to, thank you for at least considering!

here is a trick I use as a chef in the restaurant I work at with beets. Halfway submerge them with half and half of water and orange juice cover with ten foil and place them in the oven for 20-30 mins or until tender. The orange juice will give the beats a sweet citrusy taste that takes them to the next level imo.

or, make a conical funnel that is a few feet wider at the top and which fits inside the 5 gallon bucket, out of plastic, an old tarp, and you could hold it in place with bungee straps, putting grommets in a few places in the plastic / tarp. which can be set up, removed, and stored in a few seconds.

Congrats on the new casa, it looks beautiful. When you were cleaning the fish I was thinking it was still the old house because the cleaning table and waterway looked similar but yeah the inside way different. That little dolphin was so cute, smallest I've seen. Cheers!

Why would you ever dress your salad before your fish is even on the grill! Especially when you're mixing the feta right in. Do your guests a favor and dress the salad when every thing else is done immediately before you serve it. Add the feta on top. Then serve it.

Hey Vic! Try sprinkling some balsamic vinegar, and a dash of sugar or honey before you put the veggies in the oven for your pasta sauce. If you liked the sauce you made now, you are gonna love this addition to it. It adds tons of depth and extra flavor to your sauce.

Hey Vic, you are in Florida, so plant a lemon verbena tree / bush. best lemon flavor; it is in the same family as Mexican oregano (Lippia graveolens, which is not in the mint family as oregano, thyme, rosemary, etc. are. get one of those too.

The irony here is thick: you speak on the absence of bait and pompano, then proceed to be extremely excessive in your harvesting. The lack of self awareness here is getting old man.
