fishing: I use to love fishing below 3rd Street Dam on the Jim River in Huron South Dakota for walleyes, but the city decided to fill it up with red granite rock, to prevent drowning. I dont know that they prevented any drowning, but they did make a giant death trap for game fish. Now the majority of game fish eventually get trapped in this rock pile, especially during low water years, when they try to swim over the dam and they swim straight into rocks and they cannot get out. Now thousands of dead game fish fill our dam every year now. Where is the Game Fishing Parks when we need them? One last note if a person catches more than four walleyes and the game warden catches them, they get a hefty fine. When 1, 000s of walleye get trapped in our dam and die, its no big deal to the GFP I guess? Date: 2022-05-15
