I am so with you on the Sailfish thing.
Many, many, many moons ago I caught a giant Sail off of Boynton Inlet on the then GOAT - The Two Georges. (Unfortunately no longer with us)
As I was fishing for Y-tails and Grunts I only had 17 lb test on. This led to an hour long exhausting battle. It was crazy; two I- Beams for forearms and paralyzed hands.
I miraculously landed t buy very unfortunately it could not be revived.
As I was down on vacation from Canada, staying in a hotel, I had no way to cook any of it. Left it to the crew.
To me it was such a waste of a spectacular beast.
That was over 40 years ago and since then I have never attempted to catch a Sail since.
Now you. GREAT job on the Hoo!

Another awesome video Vic, congrats on a solid Hoo! Always love your content, if I had just one small critique, it would be that the hookset on the wahoo you pitched to seemed a little weak in my humble opinion. Also, glad the tax man didn't collect from y'all. Tight lines and screaming drags brother! P. S. Congratulations to you and Brooke on a beautiful and healthy baby girl!

I have much respect for all you saltwater fishermen. I too live in Florida but I'm a bass fisherman. I tried saltwater fishing and caught some fish but I don't have a boat. Problem with bank fishing saltwater is you got to be mindful of changing tides. That is frustrating sometimes. When I do get a boat I'll be joining you guys and the competition will be on lol

We each quite a few wahoo on long range trips out of San Diego. One thing the deckhands stress: Do not pump the fish or it will drop the hooks. Bring it in with a steady wind.
