Jay, it was very nice for you and Sam to take some time to discuss with my 2 boys, Louis (7) and Felix (5, while your mind was probably into the tournament. I really appreciate you did this. Even your gentle soft spoken approach couldn't get Louis and Felix to interact. I have never seen them as startstruck, they were literally hiding under the seats of the boat!
They have been following your videos avidly, and you are one of their favorite fishing vlogger. You have been a major influence on them and they often quote your tips while we are out fishing (like, leeches can be hooked from either end.
I am not an outdoors-man and I certainly did not initially brought up my kids to be outdoors-kids either. However thanks to your adventures we have become aware of how lucky we are to be on Lake of the Woods, and the endless fishing possibilities that are offered to us. You have somehow showed us the way and we spend most of our summer week-ends on the lake fishing now.
And this week-end Louis caught his first Smallmouth bass master angler. All of this would have never happened without people willing to share their passion.

800 reef runners are a good bait as long as you keep them tuned. Deep water Bandits also great bait for that depth. Try putting a piece of night crawler top of the back hook. Doesn't affect the action. Works great on Erie. Nice video.
