Talk about over thinking it Just do what you feel comfortable with. My son caught a 4 pound bass on a damn Walmart sponge Bob rod with a hook with a worm on it. The guy next to us using his Abu Garcia bait caster and box full of tackle smarted off to my son when my son asked what kinda fish can you get with those fake fish? The man answered not any that your going to get with sponge Bob. Minutes later my son had that bass on Sponge Bob I asked if he wanted to buy Sponge Bob since he has bought everything else that didn't work Point is don't get all caught up in non sense because there might be a small kids that will show you up with a cheap Walmart rod

I think that the little weight stopper things are the bomb. The way you can allow a controlled movement of the weight and allow there to be noise is super useful in Central Texas fishing the Texas rig. Also, what would you say would be the best action style camera to get for the best price? I am thinking about getting one of those ion cameras because they are so much cheaper than GoPro. Should I go through with that or get another one?

The way I see it, if a bass eats a non-pegged texas rig, the weight won't get sucked into his mouth when he flares his gills because it's too dense and the line will slide through. If it's pegged he will have the weight in there so there's an obstruction to setting the hook. I also tend to have more fish drop a pegged t-rig if I'm not fast enough on the hook set.

I know tungsten is obviously better for environment. But other than that why is it so good. I haven't bought any yet ( haven't found them) but I use steel. Is that going to make a big difference. Or should I drive two hrs to bass pro shop kux that's the only place that has them without having to order

Meh. The only time I ever use a bobber stop is when I'm punching thick vegetation or mats with something like a pit boss. Other than that, I don't unless I'm getting hung up on submerged weeds like milfoil. Then I'll just use the toothpick method cuz I can't be bothered to get more stops.

loved this video. tons of help, I think it would have been helpful to show how to put on a bobber stop. I personally do not use them because I don't know how but will definitely be picking some up next time I see them. thanks again for the great videos as always

If this isn't to personal, I was wondering how you afforded equipment towards the beginning of your tournament/professional fishing career. I am looking to start tournaments next spring, but I don't have a ton of cash to blow. Any advice helps, thanks

I use bobber stop-but I do not peg the weigh i put the bobber stop about 4 inches above the weigh/lure which works really well and still keeps it from getting hung and the weigh will be up the line and it won't go with the fish. Nice vid tho

You legit made this video for no reason. You said don't peg the weight cause may lose fish then later your showing videos and talking about your hookset with a pegged weight. It just don't make sense if you say something stick to it

You can also slide the peg up or down depending on what your fishing at that moment. Another good tip is to use a sneel knot. It will increase your hook up percentage and put the hook in a position to hook them in the roof of the mouth.
