This is my once every few months quick clean up on my rods and reels that keeps them working right through out the year. If have had your rod and reel a long time and never cleaned it, you might want to give this a try! Jace: hey when your cleaning the spool can you use reel oil or is it better to use lubricant? and i have a tournement coming up on eufaula i fish their alot. should i go with my guy and fish the baits i usually catch em on or use something else? thanks.

you know people are saying here he is not cleaning his reels properly, he stated he wasent going to break the reel all the way down in the beginning of the video, and futher more the reels have alot of little parts, to a novice this could be challenging to say the least breaking reel down all the way. i have several revo stx reels, and have hade them for 3 years not and i have never had a reason to break them down all the way, i myself do a general maintenance like hes doing here and have had no troubles, i have had to break one down for a repair one time, im not saying its not ideal to service one to the extreme of breaking it down all the way, if your novice, either break a broken one down first to have a understanding of inside or pay to have it done. I know u probably wont read this comment but I like to use this product called real magic it works really well when I use my reels in salt water or dont clean the for a while the gunk yo but all u do us spray them with water then let them dry then just spray them with the real magic it is not expensive at all and you can get it at Walmart and academy, etc

Not the way to go, with those spraybottles! This way you get dirt and oil everywhere, and areas as the spoolshaft you really want to keep dry or else your spool will get slower! Look for another video on cleaning your baitcaster reels!

LFG, do you store your rods with or without the reels on the reel seats? Also, do you change out the line on your reels every year, ie fluorocarbon and braid? Get video, thanks for sharing. Nick

I absolutely love that u don't bother taking the price tag off ur Rod, I thought I was the only one lol. don't care if it's pretty as long as it tows in them lunkers, tight lines bro

The brakes arnt designed to run dry, if they didnt have that film of lube the brakes would dig in and gouge out raceways. Think of it like a wet clutch in a fork lift.

Hey dude. Yesterday I made some bad comments about you and I want to apologize. I should have kept my mouth shut and I didnt and Im sorry.

you need to stop what you're doing, and learn how to disassemble your reel and clean it properly. Its not that hard at all
