Most BIG BASS Lost on Fishing Trip Ever!

It's another YouTube fishing collaboration with 1rod1reelfishing and we are bass fishing a central Texas hot water power plant lake to do a late afternoon fall fishing challenge. The lake was low, so we went right after some big bass offshore that we located. Most of the fish seemed to be setting up in about 10 feet of water and we were fishing crankbaits, jigs, and swimbaits. Due to the warm water in the lake, these largemouth bass have developed a softer mouth than most other lakes at this time of year. All the big fish also seem to come right up and jump, making it challenge for anglers to land a big bass. There were many bass that must have been suspended because they kept hitting my crankbait as it was coming up at the end of a cast. Having fish hit your lure right under the boat while fishing is always trouble because they are at their full fight strength and you don't have much line out on the rod and reel. After loosing nearly a dozen big bass on jigs and crankbaits, Mike landed a few and turned our luck around. Overall, we had a lot of bites that didn't get in the boat but it was still a great day on water with some really healthy average size bass. TIPS In this video you will learn how to position your boat to get the most affective depth when targeting bass around banks like the dam we were fishing. LFG you did a good job hosting 1R1R in TX, I know Mike can be difficult to fish with from what I have seen, JK, but who pre-hooks their worms in the package?
He should be ready for the Googans now.
Look forward to seeing more Hot water fishing this winter if you get the chance next few months. I paid my dues fishing many winters days on Monticello.

I love how you guys are calling it fall fishing but it's 90 degrees out. Here in Ohio, we're in 50s during the day with water temperatures also in the upper 50s to low 60s. We are still catching bass. Big ones too. Come up to Ohio.

dude I dont know when this was filmed but I went wednesday in arkansas and this same thing happened. boated maybe 5 but lost like 15 on the first jump everytime. crazy they were even throwin 5/0 hooks

great video, his voice though it wouldn't take long to figure out that once you have a pattern set up that the rods that he keeps stepping on would need to go on the the other side of the boat.

I know this is any obvious question but did you check your hooks? Maybe put some bigger trebles on those crankbaits? That was nuts! Have never seen anything like it!

LakeForkGuy, I was just wondering what brand of face shield you use. I want to buy one and wondered what your favorite is. If you could reply that would be great!

Man use ewg's when fishing crank baits in hot water. The bass mouth gets softer the warmer the water ewg's get hold better. Rounds during the cooler water.
