You don't think there are any squirrels in those woods? Trust me, there are plenty of them. You're just moving around too much and walking too fast. Walking around like that, the squirrels hear and see you a long ways off and run and hide. You're not in some park, you have to be VERY stealthy. Believe it or not, you have to just as stealthy as when you're hunting deer. Squirrels have very keen eyesight and like deer, pick up on the slightest movement and noise. And just imagine how easy it is for them to head up into the trees, lay on top of a branch, peek over just enough to see you and just wait until you go away.

When I was a kid I lived way out in the rural countryside in south carolina. In the fall my father would wake me early on saturday morning and we would have a hot breakfast then hit the woods squirrel hunting. We usually would get one or two. I was using a. 410 single shot shotgun. He taught me how to skin a squirrel when I was as young as 8 or 9. When we had maybe a dozen squirrels in the freezer my mother would cook them and we would have a big dinner. Wonderful days back then. I still have that gun and my fathers 12 gauge.

that there. 410 is equivalent to a. 45 cal. long colt which in turn is the famous colt. 45 cal. thats used in the trusty 1911 colt acp. .a. 45 long colt cartridge will fit that bore but im not sure about the 3'' chamber. also check out the caliber adapters for the. 410, kinda neat to be able to use various cal. ammo. just in case. enjoyed the video Justin, Thanks! .

In Michigan, it's free to hunt public or state land with a valid hunting license. You can hunt deer on public land as well and you can use rifles and airguns as well. Well, rifles for deer in the northern part of the state. The southern half has cartridge restrictions. Thank god for the 450 bushmaster.

That's pretty much how my hunting trips turn out. walking around, thrashing through brush, and snapping twigs hunting squirrel and all I see is deer; sitting motionless in a tree stand and all i see are squirrel.

definitely a confused doe, antlers and Pink Bows. Love it. I also love a good walk in the woods. I also need to watch out for those danger noodles when I'm out. we have rattlers here in MD.

My brother used to use an old mossberg 410 bolt action for squirrel hunting. The one he used had an internal magazine and a polychoke on the end.
