Swamp Fishing in My Jon Boat!

In today's fishing vlog we are bass fishing on Caddo Lake from my jon boat. This swamp of a lake is full of cypress tree stumps and it's known for having bass, crappie, catfish, pickerel, and many other shallow water species. It's a place that needs a lot of exploring and I'll be back!

When you went through the Star Ditch from Johnsons ranch and went left through Goose Prairie the area to the left by the two story duck blind is Old Folks Playground, very good area especially the trees to the right of the boat lane. Other good areas are Little and Big Green and Clinton Lake.

We get loads of pickerel out here. I always thought they were kinda skinny, smaller fish, but I hooked one in McAdam, NB last summer that was so thick I thought it was a pike at first. which we don't even have here lol.

Interesting you mentioned using gas like you do.
I have a 14 ft on boat, medium width, with a 9. 9 Evinrude (like 70s model. I go all day long. Love cranking it. Does about 31 mph. My 6 gal. remote tank last me about 3 outings!

Yeah I have a little 1448 that doesnt have an electric bilge. Took a big wave while on lake Champlain in the north east and luckily I had a hand pump doesnt take much room and can be a life saver

dang pickerel. Fishing for bass and you cant hide your bait from those monsters in the lake we fish in upstate NY. Theyre fun. but when youre hoping for a big mouthed hog. its frustrating!
