Hi Robert - I'm an Aussie and I really enjoy your kayak fishing videos. In addition to all the great fish you catch in the beautiful locations you visit, I admire your film production standards and your conservation ethic. Hope you enjoy your upcoming trip to Australia and New Zealand. January is actually a great time to catch big Barramundi in large man-made freshwater dams in Queensland. It's safe to fish for Barra in these big dams using kayaks as there are no saltwater crocodiles in them. Another great place for kayak fishing is the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland where you'll encounter many different species including black marlin, but you'll need a mothership to take you and your kayak to the best fishing spots along the reef which are many miles from coastal towns. January and February are also good months to kayak fish in Sydney harbour for mid size yellowtail and Australian salmon using lures.

2018 was great indeed! Goodluck and be safe in Panama and eat some IGUANA and drink lots of SOBERANA'S! Hope to see you around DC in 2019 or maybe in Panama. Till then safe travels to you and Jamie. Be safe guys and TIGHT LINES! My memorable moment from 2018 was Musky fishing on the Shenandoah River in VA and hooking into a 40+ Musky. had her swimming besides me as my buddy in another kayak tried to get her in the net and she wouldn't fit in doing so the hooks from the lure got caught up in the net and she wiggled her way free but still. was super STOKED!

If you need some tips for Louisiana theres a lot to work with starting with.
1. NOLA Pontchartrain Bridge area.
2. Venice, LA. Wagon Wheel area. Cypress Cove Marina.
3. Houma, L. A. or Grand Isle LA.
4. Cypermore Point LA.
5. Atchafalaya Basin ( fresh water, huge bream, crappie, bass)
6. Lacassine Reserve Pool. ( fresh water, excellent fishing)
7. Hackberry LA. Black Lake. Spicers Marina
8. Grand Lake LA. Big Lake area Heberts Marina ( pronounced A- Bears)
All relatively close to I-10 and can accommodate campers etc.

Awesome highlights for 2018, was great to see them again and all the best for 2019. Say G'day to my mate Damian Bowman down in Los Buzos, he's fishing the world cup event. Legend fisherman and a top bloke.
Stoked to hear you're coming to Australia, going to get over to the west side at all?

It's been a pleasure being able to watch your success growing over this past year. Can't wait until I can come to Panama and try for some monsters with you hopefully soon. Looking forward to what this year has to offer. Happy New Year and safe travels!

2018 highlight catch of the year 48lb striper from the surf night. Rob if your interested in fishing the surf at night for big moma cow striped bass let me know. It will be an experience youll never forget. Tight lines

All nice fish. Good vid. Not hating at all but that striped bass was actually a smaller one. They get up to 50+lbs in saltwater. I've been in bunker schools where there will be 40 lb class fish blowing up on them.

You need to come to Louisiana and fish in the lacassine pools in Jefferson parish. You wanna catch some shoepick(bowfin) thats where to go to catch some monsters. And some big bass, gar fish, pickerels.
