HW News - Intel Ships 1 GPU, Delidded Ryzen 7000 CPU, Apple M1 Vulnerability

Hardware news this week talks about Intel's singular Arc GPU that 'shipped,' the delidded AMD Ryzen 7000 CPU, Apple's M1 vulnerability, and plenty more - like NVIDIA's first HBM3-equipped GPUs coming to market for Hopper H100 video cards and accelerators. LouieM: The most impressive FSR 2.0 example they have I feel is the 1080p Performance screenshots. Effectively making 540p rendering actually look finely detailed with some tiny details that are almost always lost in 1080p. I feel like that low level render scale with it being platform agnostic is amazing for even low end GPUs (Maybe even Switch?)

Great news. one more gpu closer to a normal market. That really is good news. On repair, I watched his video last night. Should go watch if you don't know him. He's making a huge difference. I've repaired monitors, stereo amps, gpus. It's still way too hard to find parts. Even getting parts for a case, your cpu coolers etc not to mention more mundane things like vacuums. We have a labor shortage, we have inflation. This is partially due to our over reliance on disposing and not repairing things. The era of cheap chinese goods is probably ending. I still feel like the other element here is software in tech. If apple or nvidia decide they don't want to support your hardware anymore it goes in a landfill. Don't kid yourself for a lot of people a 970 is still fine. most people are 1080p gaming. Go look at steam it's the 1060. The way they will get you to upgrade is by not supporting your hardware. This is an area where intel will help a lot. They support their hardware well for years. Great video and news.

yes as answer to the slim fans. if the high pressure is good enough for the fan to equal that of a regular fan then these would be a real bonus on custom water cooling for enabling thicker radiators with slimmer fan as opposed to slim radiators and thick fans. As you have so clearly illustrated over the years not all PC cases are created equal. Some a very nice but limited with space and especially with the size of newer graphics cards. I can see a situation where a medium sized case might well benefit from a slim radiator with slim fans built in the front leaving enough space for these GPU's that are increasingly larger.
Nothing wrong with more options if the items offered perform as advertised.

i saw a review of the P360A, there was mentioned, that the initial batch of cases come with 4 fans (3 already built in, 1 is part of the package). If the launch version is gone, then the case will only have 3. I think Leo from KitGuru was also confused by the different numbers, made it clear later in his review. Topic Slim-fans: they have a usecase, that is rare and limited, havin more options in the market is always good. So far, i mostly went with slim-fans from Scythe (they also have RGB 12V versions...).

I am surprised they put the AM5 actual chiplets far out on the edge like that and the I/O die enjoys a relatiely privileged position near the center. I would expect it to be the other way around or at least balanced meaning all dies get some extra IHS padding room from the edge of the IHS to themselves. The way they did it is fine but perhaps not quite optimal from a thermal & OC point of view.

I love how amd throws these numbers with fsr2.0 and you will all see it isn't the same lol just false stuff same thing as there 5950xt numbers which on average most reviewers show it around 19k not 22k lol I think it's funny how people love using only the absolute top numbers not averages going oh look this is better or that's better when it actually isn't lol

My brain feels like a new HD that was just installed at the beginning of this Video writing down all the bits of data provided in the Video. At the end I find my Disk is full. Not one bite left. Then I get a request for a system update that requires 1/4 of my total data space be free for the update. You gotta stop doing that to me. lol Thank you.

Concerning Arctic fans I love their p12 120mm fans as a value for money alternative to noctua. Recently I needed a pair of slim fans for an nr200p build and mounted a pair of slim p12 fans in the case basement. If I needed slim fans again for a 240 or 280 rad for example in an sff build I would probably go with Arctic again.

I'm one of those who buys fans every so often just to try them out and have been disappointed with quite a few 140mm fans not performing as expected. The few that do perform to my liking included those from Arctic (P14) and I would be interested in trying out the slims to see how they fare compared to the standard ones.

Intel GPU delay We knew our product was great. But we honestly didn't want to overcharge customers by taking advantage of crypto-gpu price craziness. Really. We are waiting for total Crypto-GPU price collapse and for Nvidia 40xx launch so we can really shake up the market. Really.
