Looks like a great board from MSI. But does it use an Intel Ethernet Controller? As much hate as there is on the MSI Carbon for it's VRMs at higher voltage, it gives you Intel Gigabit along with Intel Wi-Fi. (Rare at the sub- 250 price point) I still stand by the MSI Carbon & Gaming Plus as good choices for Ryzen 3600 to 3700X builds. But as we know, their VRMs get hot when pushed hard. I've done several Carbon builds with 3700x's and the Ace has been my go to board for 3900X & 3950X builds, and haven't had any issues with any of them. However, if this has good other specs, it'll be great for budget 3900X/3950X builds, especially now that the price is dropping on those chips. I also hope this will continue into X670 and future MSI AMD boards.

Actually Hardcore Overclocking This motherboard has awesome VRM. But I can tell why you might not like it. Main reason, it has a Realtek LAN chip. 1. I can see the Realtek crab logo on the IC right on the left of the first PCI-E slot. 2. I myself feel that it has an awkward fan header positioning. There is only 1 CPU fan header instead of 2 for a mid-tier motherboard, usually 1 for CPU_OPT. No chassis fan header is seen near the I/O section of the board for exhaust fan at the back of the casing. Most awkward is, there are 4 fan headers right at the most bottom middle part of the motherboard stack side by side. Why do that MSI?

I have been waiting since CES for this board, still nothing (thanks Corona, kudos to MSI for the design, if they can get this out in europe at 200 Also would have prefered less phases (because this VRM is really overkill) and a postcode instead. Anyway, maybe it is better to wait for B550, maybe not, depends on the price and if the fan is dead silent when idle or during workloads (mainly games. I wish MSI would offer a version without WiFi which i dont need on my desktop at all. Also i hope there will be good support for Zen 3 CPUs.

In reference to the extra 4-pin on motherboards (mentioned at 04: 00, does adding the extra connector add any sort of stability or anything to the power draw? I remember seeing a video where someone took a GPU with two different connectors on it, and saw some gains in performance when using two cables from the PSU rather than one. Was wondering if it'd be a similar case for motherboards where the power is drawn from more connectors

Noobs have a obsession with useless overclocks and ram modules and so many coolers, most builds are just ridiculous and useless if you dont work at pixar. And they go and play fortnite and gta with them at 1080p, the industry is making so so so so much money with people that has no idea what they are doing lol, its like building a spaceship to use to go around a city with a limit speed of 70mph.

I don't trust debug LEDs. My CPU stopped working in my Asus X570 TUF Gaming WiFi and it kept sticking on the VGA light after clearing the CPU light. I test swapped everything else for days before just buying a new CPU which now works perfectly in my original board. And now I have a brand new Gigabyte board to sell because I don't want to drive all the way to Microcenter to return it.

As always, great job BZ! When you do get the actual mobo for testing, could you compare it with the X470 Gaming Pro Carbon, one of your past favorite upper mid-range boards? It would be very interesting to see the generational progression, since this X570 appears to be the spiritual heir to the X470 Gaming Pro Carbon. Thanks!

I keep finding out the hard way that I; 1. I paid 280 on a board that is outperformed by cheaper boards (MSI x570 pro carbon) 2. that i could get better VRM for less money 3. Looks aren't everything when buying a board and just because it costs more, doesn't mean it does more. But hey, I have a cool looking board, right?

Looking at guru3d's article about the 3800x (google 3800x boost clocks) 6 boards were able to hit the 3800x's rated boost speed (4. 5ghz. Including the 160 MSI X570 A PRO. Which actually managed to boost it to 4. 525 ghz. Their crazy expensive godlike only managed 4. 5ghz So even if it does run hot, what's the issue?

hey Gamers Nexus, you testet Walmart and Ibuypower, do you plan to test those more? Had to recommend a finished build for a friend who lives far away, sent him to memory pc for a 1200 build. They seem pretty good quality, but i can't judge, haven't looked at the system in person. Maybe an inspiration for the future
