If you use Excel or Word extensively and would like to perform find and replace operations in batch right from your desktop, you can do so with Replace Genius, a freeware program that allows you to find and replace text within Excel, Word, and text files. A great advantage is that it allows you to combine your desired text manipulation operations together and save them in presets. Not only can you keep these for later use, but you can also use them to perform operations on files in batch.
Step # 1 - Download and Install Replace Genius
First of all you need to download and install Replace Genius. To do so open your browser and type this link: www. rlvision. com/genius/about. asp. Then click on the Download button. Allow the program to run the Setup and follow the steps to install the program.
Step # 2 - Replace files in Batch
For example, to replace text in Word files in batch, you need to first change the settings in the Replace tab. To do so, select it and fill in the fields of Find and Replace with with the words you want to find and replace.
Then go to File and select Batch processing. In the new window click on Add files and choose the files you want to use. Save the location for your files and click the Ok button. Now click Start. And thats it! Repeat the same process for Excel files!
Step # 3 - Save your presets
An interesting feature of the program is that you can save your manipulations as presets for later use. To do so, go to Presets and click on New. Give it a name, then click on the Replace tab; choose your settings and click Add. Now you have your preset to use whenever you want!
