Let's cut through the pseudoscience hog wash here. DNS which stands for Domain Name System simply resolves and IP address to a domain name. Simple as that. By connecting to a faster DNS server it just helps your pages load faster. What it doesn't do is increase throughput of the connectivity. Internet speeds are inconsistent. You may have done a speed test at a time when you had higher latency before the DNS change. Then done a speed test with a lower latency after the DNS change. Latency can be inconsistent depending on a number of factors. None of which has to do with DNS. That means your DNS will not speed up your streaming service, it will not help your gaming speed and it will not help with data transfer. So please stop telling people that there internet will be faster by changing their DNS. Because it won't be. I am a Cisco certified network engineer. I do this for a living. Listening to this crap makes me cringe.

How to really fix your slow internet connection; complain to your provider. When (not if) they fail to resolve your problem, take it up with the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (or equivalent in your country). Unfortunately telcos & other businesses that rely on getting money for very little aren't concerned about customer satisfaction until they're made accountable to the relevant authority.

So, Im sick of every video showing this tip(tip #1). Changing your DNS server will help at improving your browsing response time and your website loading time aswell, however, changing a dns server will have absolutely NO EFFECT on the download speeds and upload speeds of your internet connection.

the fastest I got on a speed test was download 0.01mb and upload was 0.1 kb and I'm not lying it's true. btw I live in AU and where I live has no NBN and AU has bad wifi all the time.

With this caveat....you will not surpass the maximum throttle speed provided by your ISP. If you're already running on it the only magic available is to find another/faster ISP.

I didn't do anything other than slowing my internet connection. I preffer to use obtain DNS address automatically. I always tryyour all videos don't get mad on me
