I love the studio, Chris! That is pretty awesome that you did all the work yourself, with some help. The labor of love shows through. I actually like the room divider wall thing you have going on - I think of traditional Japanese walls. It is a good break from the other walls, and makes it less -sterile-. I find it so amazing that you were able to repurpose a lot of things, that a lot of others would not use and it is --far-- from a -ghetto setup-. Excellent! I hope that when you get into your groove in the coming weeks, that this studio is all that you hoped it would be and allows you to shine further in your passions.

To know where the holes are in the wall for the electricity you can also just make some sound on the wall and listen where it sounds hollow. I don't know much about construction but I do know this. Yes, measure twice. A shotgun microphone solves that AC-problem but unfortunately shotgun microphones are a bit expensive.

Best sound deadening material is dense fiberglass boards ... like what they use for ceiling tiles .... the thicker the better. You can also go to a fabric store and upholster the walls ... may need to take the fabric to seamstress to sew the panels together of just use fir strips to tack down the edges of the fabric.

So happy for you dude. Stepping away from corporate tech life was huge for me. Seeing you do it via YouTube is very cool. After a couple of years you really start to look at things differently. All the best. I really need to get back down to Texas. My last trip there was really a blast.

Awesome job Chris! And many thanks 4 share it! Tired but happy ;)) Own place to record is something , that many of us see in minds but reality is little harder. Good that my favorite YouTuber can do better what he love. Cheers

Hi Chris, Nice job! If you're looking for effective acoustic panels try layering towels in a frame. Here's a content idea, look at Homeseer home automation. I'm considering it so if you did some videos I'd be very interested.

Looking great. Could you a primer on Linux Audio. Between Pulseaudio and Jack and everything else it is a hot mess. Love to get your take on it and some good common sense solutions.

you should keep the room divider on the wall, it gives the studio a more unique look rather than just being in a boring recording studio with foam in 360 degrees
