A few years back an external hard drive with over 15 years of data got messed up.
I had purchased a one month subscription to two different portion recovery software. Unfortunately one only recovered seemingly everything as renamed files (example: Anna.gif to gif1) into folders of same type (example: gif1 in folder labeled gif), while the other partition recovery software seemed to recover everything nearly the exact original way it was (Unfortunately a few files were corrupted beyond repare, but luckily several were accidental duplicates i never got around to getting rid of).
I don't remember what the better one was, but hope to get it again due to coming into possession of a similar situation with an old internal hard-drive I found and want to salvage & a -unreadable- 2tb I bought off ebay for $25. If lucky I cam salvage any data from my old drive & possibly send any important pics vids or documents back to the person I bought the hard drive from. Especially if any old family pics/vids.

i want to dump some old cds, they aren't bootable or even oem disks, none of them need to be images (i have a couple that do but i will worry about them later) they are just old and have some corrupt files. it is two sets of the driver collection from the computer store that i worked at in the late 90s and early 2000s, this set is from 99 and 2000 and has software for a ton of retro computers. i don't know if any of it is hard to find these days, but this was our on call service tech's bundle along with a bunch of software that specific tech made himself for our shop that automated loading windows and finding drivers for any machine up to and including early athlons and coppermines. i am just wondering if there is an established way to dump old disks like that, i am using roadkills unstoppable copier so far, i hope it can produce a log because otherwise i will have to screenshot the corrupt files.

My mom has a problem with PC on her job, she lost most of the data. She-s a person who has little understanding of computers, she needs something easy and good working. Simply put, I was looking for the best data recovery software. We tried Disk Drill, it seemed to be simple. And it is. My mom intuitively understood how to use the program. It's difficult for the older generation, you may know.
PC is ok, data is recovered, mom feels like a programmer, haha) She asked if I can show -a bit more tricks- with her old PC))
By the way, I installed a drill on my mac and dad's laptop. Let it be just in case.

Great video--thanks for the rundown. I have a trickier (or maybe not) situation. I have an 8TB external drive that seems to have all of my data on it, but the disk shows up as -invalid- in window 10 disk manager. It is listed as a dynamic disk. I think if I converted it to a basic disk, I would be able to access all of the data, but maybe not. I've run disk drill on the drive for over 24 hours now. It sees a LOT of files (so far 2.94TB worth). But there is more data in there, but the program seems to be hung. Can you recommend software or a process to address this? Thanks!

i want to recover my internal memory data using Recuva but when i connect to my phone it cannot recognize my phone. Can Recuva recover the data of the phone's internal memory? I have a question. I have an old phone, once I plugged it into my computer and accidentally deleted a file in the phone. The phone was then reset to its original state once. So is the data on my phone recoverable? Thanks a lot

I have 200 GB of photos, videos and music that needs to be recovered. I used disk drill and was able to preview my photos, but after looking online at all of the bad reviews regarding Disk Drill I am very hesitant to pay the $89 and recover the files. Any free, reliable software you suggest?

I used my hard desk to donwload Windows 10 (bootable drive) to install it on a laptop that has had its HDD replaced with an SSD one.
Please advise which software I should use to recover the lost data in the hardest that was used as a bootable drive.

Hello Andrew, I hope you see my message. I recently bought Disk Drill and I used it but Macbook ran out of battery and missed up when I contacted the company (Disk Drill) they told me that my hard disk is SSD so it can not go back, do you have any solutions?
