The natural thing in i3 is move the workspace itself from one monitor to another. E. g, in my config, I have:
bindsym $mod+Shift+k move workspace to output right
This means that Super-Shift-K moves the entire workspace with all its contents from one monitor to another. Technically, you're not swapping workspaces, you're moving the workspace from one monitor to the other. (Of course I also have $mod+Shift+j move workspace to output left); of course, you could write a script with i3-msg that would move one workspace left, and another right, at the same time, if you wanted.
$mod+Shuft+num will move an individal window to the workspace with the number in question.

Just an update on my install of OpenSUSE Plasma Tumbleweed. My install has not updated in 11 days. I assume all the developers took a week off for some reason? Maybe something was going on over there in Europe - or some kind of holiday in Germany? I assume most of them are either from Germany or near Germany. Correct me if I am wrong. Anyways, I am excited patiently waiting for my version to bump up to 20190104 today, but assuming it won't do that until later next week. I can only guess that will include kernel 4. 19. 12. I doubt it will have the new systemd.

Snaps are an interesting concept. Recently setup Nextcloud snap on a home server / laptop. It was quick and painless untill i wanted to add Tomboy note app. There are dependencies that are needed but not supported within the snap, so in a snap (pun intended) i was stuck. Still reading on how to redo the snap so I can add this option. To sumarize SNAP just like any new format should be carefully analyzed before you deploy it.

Hey DT, I signed up on Mastodon just to follow you. I've been distro hopping a bit lately and saw some of your i3 stuff. Now I'm a little hesitant to put anything with i3 on my main machine. I've got 2 monitors and am picky about the way my 6 workspaces are set up. I'll be paying attention to any changes you make to that setup. Peace.

Great video Derek. I hate having the wool pulled over my eyes, and Bloodstained developers are no exception. This is what will give a black eye to those who really could make a difference and don't get the support because it was ruined by some other underhanded parties. Also, Happy New Year my friend!

I don't get all this hype on Mozilla Firefox ads. Mozilla is a large part of the FREE network stack in GNU software (i. e. linux. I've been using Firefox for years, never saw an ad in the browser. If this is a Windows thing, there's a simple solution to that that. stop using shitty Microsoft products.

Those Mac & Linux backers should get their money back, either through contacting Kickstarter or charge backs. Personally, I think it's ridiculous that backers in general have accepted the common practice that they're more than likely to not receive everything that was promised.

If ChromeOS never supported proper Linux apps, & until it properly supports it, I'd rather use Windows.
At least with Windows laptop, I can easily switch to another OS. IIRC, I can't purge ChromeOS when I switch to another OS on Chromebooks.

Maybe the reason you can't move tiles is because i3 lacks tile templates. Maybe if you moved a program to desktop 2, it would have no idea where to put it or how to tile it.
