I cannot believe they didn't include Plan-9 or Inferno... Honestly, Plan 9 and Inferno are two brilliant OSes that would have altered the course of the internet/cloud if they had gotten developers to try it out.
Bryan Lunduke had the creator of ArcaOS on his show I believe. Honestly most of these alternative systems aren't worth their salt. Temple OS is very finicky with hardware, but honestly consider Terry Davis a true genius. He hand wrote a lot functionality, even his own graphics system, all in 2MB. Solaris was re--propriated- under Oracle, and then killed, so I don't know why they didn't mention Illumos/OpenIndiana/SmartOS. Haiku is actually pretty cool.

I think you answered your own question, DT. You criticized Antergos because it wouldn't install or work reliably... fair criticism. It wouldn't matter if it was Arch based or Ubuntu based... if it's not reliable then criticism is warranted. You criticized Mint even though it does install and work reliably. I get that you're not a Mint fan, but a lot of people do like it because it does install reliably and work reliably and they just like Mint. I've used Antergos and I didn't mind it, but in my opinion Mint was/is better. I also wish Endeavour the best of luck with their new venture. I like what I'm hearing about it.

I don't understand why they say that deepin is the best looking distro , when even I (noob) managed to customise my xfce + compiz in 2 clicks to look the most elegant simple and minimalistic . Hell I didn't expect that this is something uncommon or idk , maybe i should record my screen to show this . It's really not a big deal , but still I didn't saw such a set up anywhere else. Who wants to see my desktop , let me know , I'll record a video on that, cuz right now I have no point in doing so, because no one care..

Regarding the Dropbox file-system oddities: I could be wrong, but I think the way Dropbox is -syncing- to the Linux file-system wasn't capable of reading from those partitions, particularly encrypted ones. I think this is the same reason Google refuses to maintain a Drive client for Linux. For instance, the way Gnome integrates Drive is via GVFS in user space. This is why many of your files can't be opened in certain programs straight from the directory, because it's hacky and can't read/write to gvfs.

I did an Endeavour OS install in VirtualBox and I've been playing with it for a couple days. I took a look at it and did a short video on it today. Kala is supposed to be the package manager I guess but I'm not sure how it works if at all. I tried to install Octopi with no install candidate to be found. Other packages installed without a hitch using pacman -S like any other Arch install. Seems decent enough but for my daily driver I'm sticking with Netrunner 19.01 Blackbird.

Nothing more to worry about from the people at deepin than Washington... Seriously, read the Constitution of the People's Republic of China. Then read a few others, or maybe dozens, particularly that of the State of Israel. If you don't see it's all Roman Civil Code subject to the Law Merchant and the commercial codification of the Babylonian master/slave relation, and erected upon the Tontine insurance trust scheme, keep researching. It's a system. Everywhere you turn.

3:44 Of course there is, people defend Arch Linux (vanilla Arch) not a remaster or derivative. Most of the guys I know running Manjaro, Arco Linux or any other Arch base distro apart from Parabola say that they are running those distros for preparation to migrate to Arch and the guys of Arco Linux encourage the arch way installation, they are really beginner friendly too so perhaps Antergos really had to go.

I think Deepin is very good looking, some interesting apps. But I find the UI to be a little rough regarding performance. I have a modern AMD system with an NVidia 1080 and with the graphics on the slide outs stutter. If I turn the fancy graphics off, I encounter graphical glitches. Could be the Nvidia driver integration, but... I don't have any problems on Pop or Fedora or Manjaro, etc.

I have to disagree about the quality of Antergos. I bought a new laptop about a year ago and distro-hopped trying several distro's looking for the best for me. Antergos worked perfectly and I do not experience any bugs at all. Antergos scored 2nd in my search and that was a close competition.
I expect to see very good things from Endeavor.

The comment about i3...I installed Void recently on my PC as a base install with installing i3 on my own. I had my config files ready, knew my go-to programs and had to do some tinkering to compile termite myself but I know what I want, I'd probably always get a base install of any distro and throw i3 on there.
