Espanso Is A Cross Platform Text Expander DistroTube I'm taking a quick a look at nice text expander called Espanso, which is a cross-platform program written in Rust. It's very easy to install and customize to your liking, - https://espanso.org/ - https://github.com/federico-terzi/espanso

Espanso Developer Here
Hey Derek,
thank you very much for your kind words and the great video!
To answer the problems seen in the video:
- Terminal support is still in progress. espanso supports quite a few of them already, but simple terminal is known to be problematic. I'll definitely try to improve support for it as well.
- In the video, when you used :free in the terminal you got -command not found-. This was simply due to the fact that shell outputs usually end with the \n newline character, and therefore after the expansion, this was seen as pressing the Enter key afterward. I never thought about this problem, so I'll definitely add an option to trim the output of a shell script.
Thanks again and keep up the great work! :)

It really depends on how you look at it, for me the fact that it doesn't work everywhere is an advantage - i work in a shell mainly with my aliases. (btw, Terminator handles it like a charm). Do you reply to hundreds of e-mails a day?

dude! this is one the things i have been missing ever since i switched to linux. On windows i used to use AutoHotkey which had a function called -hotstrings- which is this exact thing. Just having an alias for the email like this is worth having the daemon running.

Cool. Ive installed qtile and used parts of you config. I love it, been trough the i3, awesome and dwm for long times tho. If you deep dive into vim there is actually a lot of functionality that I missed. I do have emacs installed for testing purposes tho. haha.

Seems very need. I won't use it for vim since I already use ultiSnips, which is a great plugin and I'm a st user so it wouldn't be all that useful to me. But I still have a couple of use cases in mind so I will give it a try

I can already see saving so much time in my programming work and also free time projects. Probably among the most useful programs in a while I've seen
