I told someone today how I didn't trust this website today while they were helping me sign up for finals on this website. I told them I do not feel comfortable downloading the extension or anyone gaining access to my computer and the lady assured me it's safe. This is my first semester using it because last semester my laptop was not compatible and I didn't have to use a proctoring service. The lady knows how bad my anxiety is from our many pervious conversations while I've been told during the test to not talk to myself, not look around, not allow outside nose (keep windows closed and one teacher even told a student last semester that she recommends her boyfriend takes the baby out during the hours she has her test because they may fail her if the baby cries). I didn't know about how they track all of these things. I pulled up their privacy policy and I was stunned. I then found this to reassure myself I was even reading it correctly. I want to call that women back and just say -why did you lie to me?- I have my tests next week and I don't have time to find another option. After finals I am going to contact her and find out if she works with the school or with proctoru. If its the school I am going to send her the privacy policy and ask her if this sounds safe and tell her I would like to find an alternative. And if she is with proctoru again ask why she lied to me and then disclose how I actually read the policy. Either way being someone with major anxiety issues and has had issues with online test taking I am so freaked out to even take my finals. I have been going to my school for two years and I still throw up on my first day of classes, even for online classes. I cry taking finals because I get so overwhelmed, and confused and start to hate myself and if I can't underline important words in the question I need to talk out loud to myself or I'll miss something. I have half a photogenic memory so if I get asked a question I think back to my notes in my head for example Ill remember the key points being asked on page 18 in unit 9. When reimagining my notes in head I don't even know what I am doing with my eyes or my body but I know im not dead staring straight forward. Im going to fall all my tests because of looking around or talking or having an anxiety attack or like throwing up while trying to remind myself to not do any of those things while in this extremely high pressure situation to keep my gpa at a level I never thought I was capable, along with keeping it high enough to receive finical aid. I have 2b's and then all A's for two years. One year left, and one C can destroy my gpa at this point. So ill focus on dont talk to yourself, keep your eyes from wondering, if the eyes get tired from staring at words on a small screen close them DO NOT LOOK AWAY, dont move to much, dont look away dont make noise, dont look away sit still, dont look away dont think about the bathroom, START YOUR TEST!

Okay a few questions:
Do they detect virtual machines?
Chromium has a bug and if you use more than one screen you can't share an individual one. Can people share one screen via gstreamer and do they detect this? If this is fine, can I use a second browser on the other monitor and would they detect this?
Also there are monitors that can take multiple inputs. So you could have two machines and one monitor and the software would not detect that you work on the second machine. Even if it detects this, you could simply use two this monitors and build a construction to have one monitor in front of the other and then you move the monitor in front away if you need to search something..
Works fine with smartphones/tablets too and it just gets easier if we can run mainline linux on them.

I am very pround of the university I work at for not taking any such measures and trusting the students to do what's right.
We have taken sone measures such as asking for scaned manuscripts, slightly modified questions making it harder for students to work together, changed the way questions are asked so that the students have to show more undertsnading rather than memorizing and hold interviews with students who are on the extreem ends of the scale to tests if they actually understand their answers and were effected by the circumstances (this includes being linient with students that shiw understanding but scored badly).
There are other ways than using such software.

the best advice that I could give to someone forced by schools to use that crapware is: create a virtual machine and install it inside the virtual machine, this is also known as create a sandbox and inside the sandbox that crapware should not be able to access your real data.

What also pisses me off is when I am installing the required software, McAfee or other antivirus software detects it as a virus/malware and students have to f---ing disable the antivirus which is near impossible to do to install that required software to take the exam.

I just figured out how to cheat this software so easily. It is useless at preventing cheating. But with the amount of money I paid for tuition I will not cheat myself. I want the education I paid for without being abused. Students are not prisoners!

I was annoyed that french universities kinda force students to use discord or zoom although universities are almost free but paying hundreds of thousands usd and be forced to use not only proprietary soft but spyware ... what's going on ?

LMAO, you can simply VM this with some simple hacks to really sell the VM. The cheating aspect is way too easy. All other privacy aspects are awful though. This is not the programmer's way.

It's times like these where I appreciate the fact that my teachers (probably) don't know how to install this stuff, and that if they find out, it's entirely possible to remove it
