It's great to see the FOSS gaming scene being alive!
I would love to see some new games made with Godot - a modern open-source game engine. So far it seems almost all FOSS FPS games are built on some versions of the idTech engines. Xonotic uses Dark places, being forked from original Quake engine, and Unvanquished is built on Q3A engine same as Open Arena. The only outliers are the games based on the Cube 2 engine - Sauerbraten, Red Eclipse, Tesseract... Most seem to be hardly played by anyone though. And the tech is usually far, far behind state of the art. I believe Godot 4 will let us do better.
Oh, did I mention I am working on a multiplayer FPS game made using Godot 4 with a small team? It's called Liblast. Maybe one day you'll hear about it again ;)

This is awesome-how come I can't find junk like this when I search for it?
This reminds me of AVP2, of which, I can't get the AIO to work on Linux, sadly. But I really want to start a project to remake that game. It was such a solid game, though the controls were rough.
Dudes. This is so freakin' sick, when you go to controls in Unvanquished, they have two layouts. WASD, and ESDF. I thought I was the only ESDF user! I started using ESDF after switching over to my Manuform 6x6.
One problem I have though, is that when using ESDF, though all keys are correct, 'use structure' and 'evolve' are unbound by default. I just bound them 'r' and 't'.

Thank you for spreading the word about our free open source game! ----- See you in game everyone of you! -
Edit: when playing the game as a Dretch you don't have to click to hit, just touch the opponent (and better aim the head -), other alien classes need active click to bite. As human, don't forget to use your medkit to heal before returning to the medipad! -

Ok, I saw the thumbnail with -open-source shooter-' and I was confused and worried thinking someone in the open source shot up someone.
I've been working too much, I'm turning into a boomer :-) . Maybe this game is exactly what I need to relax

That game didn't look half bad, bit too fast paced for my meagre old brain and limbs, but it looked great nonetheless. Great idea showcasing this sort of thing, shows what open source software, especially games, can be like, nice one!!

This seems like a clone of a game I remember playing years back, I think it was a mod of Counterstrike and it had the aliens (space marines vs aliens) theme. I forgot the name but it was not AVP.

Yes after a long day at work, I love just sitting down and fragging anonymous strangers left and right on the internet. Nothing like a FPS to help relieve all the built up tensions from the work day.

It looks like a poor man's Natural Selection 2. While it looks workable as a game, there are simply better alternatives for this type of gameplay. Makes me think of 0 AD vs Age of Empires...

I prefer open world juniors that take mini mini hours to complete the story. I-m not much into the player versus player online James stats are mostly what is developed nowadays.

No, this looks and feels ugly. All hail AvP 1999 but this is crap. No wonder that linux gaming is in general about Is there a native port? Can I run it via wine etc..
