I Need More Audio Jacks On My Computer - DistroTube I've got a problem. I've got multiple sets of speakers and headphones that I switch between, and I'm tired of having to constantly plug/unplug stuff into the one 3.5mm jack on the back of my computer. So I bought a cheap 4-in-1 audio splitter. Let's see if it works! Referenced: https://amzn.to/3iEeyUN - Nobsound Little Bear Audio Switcher Fabien: I made my own switch two or three years ago, in a small aluminium (yes, with an -i in the middle) case, two 3 position-switches and a bunch of 1/4 inch and 3.5 jacks. I can select between two inputs (1/4 and 3.5mm available for each) and two ouputs (1/4 and 3.5mm available for each... And the mid position of the switch allows for a mute. Quite easy to solder, and it works great.

Hey DT, it's kind of screwed up if you ask me, that the cheapest option cost so much. In the late 90's I needed a splitter so I could plug headphones and speakers in to the same port. Simple Y-shaped cable, no electronics in it, cost me 5$. I've even still got it, and if my current computer didn't have a front facing port for my wired headphones and bluetooth for the wireless, I'd still use it. It'd be nice if manufacturers brought production back stateside.

I had something similar to this and really just used my mixing board knowledge to buy a $40 I/O Behringer mini-board. All quarterjack analogue. It required a bunch of cable mixing, but it works and gives me a live eq to help limit a bass speaker I have that has broke in too much and can't seem to hold back its levels anymore.

Wouldn't something like an inexpensive DAC with multiple outs do the same thing and be able to provide better audio quality? I get that you were looking for a splitter, but controlling the audio out to device and the quality seems like a better option than just splitting the output.

Dont you just love those who dont consume crazily and spend just the right amount on devices they need!
If DT was the in the business of policy-making or a politician, half of the Silicone Valley companies (proprietary garbage makers) would go bankrupt!! Hooray to DT.

I just use simple 3.5mm audio splitters, I bought a few in the 1980's and 1990's for one or two dollars each. Don't they still sell those in department stores? You might find them in surplus stores and dollar stores, too (they have them where I live).

I had to pause and rewind several times because I used to have similar speakers and I am almost 100% sure there is 3,5mm jack on the volume control of those speakers.
There is whole another story that that connector likes to wear off quickly :D

You can get -Little Bear- splitters with an actual case, but they have 1/4- jacks. I found this to be better. I got static out of the 3.5mm jacks with similar use. I bought 3.5mm to 1/4- adapters for my typically 3.5mm plugs. Well worth it.

Dude. It takes me 20 minutes to decide to get into the thought of shopping.
I've wanted to buy an SSD for months at this point. I got to get off my rear and go buy it.

If electronics component shops were still around, this would-ve been a quick and cheap soldering job. Unfortunately, now that-s all online and the shipping costs more than the devices necessary to make this work.
