Mynda, I really want to thank you for this tutorial. I'm currently trying to learn Power BI to present the project of moving all reporting to Power BI to my bosses in the company where I work, and this video really helped me get started with the software.
Now I have a better Idea on how to start building reports in Power BI.

Hi Mynda - This video is very useful. However, which approach should be used when a data set is loaded into Power Bi and you have for numbers scientific number? Worth to mention that formatting was made in excel and in Power BI the data type was set as decimal.

Hi Mynda - as always, very helpful video! Quick question on this functionality though: is it possible to do this for many columns at once? The choice -With Locale- disappears when I select multiple columns, but I have a bunch to change and select.

Checking for errors with the checkbox -column qualiy- doesn't work reliably. In your example errors occur in the column -Budget- in rows 4098 to 4109 if you apply wrongly a German locale. But the errors are not shown in the column quality.

Power BI absolutely insists that locale for South Africa means YYYY/DD/MM. I have never had this before in any other Microsoft product. But thanks for the video to solve the crisis.
Edit: Nope, I see it's doing it in Excel as well now.

Thanks. Dates can be problematic.. As a rule of thumb, I usually input my dates as YYYY-MM-DD where i have control. Problem is where one does not have control. Thanks for the tip
