Firefox has been showing me ads for Andrew Yang (a US presidential candidate for 2020) in my history bar (ordered by last visited. It shows his site as the second top option, with the donation site as the first option. Although I love my hardened Firefox, I hate mozilla for doing this crap in their browser. I got hardened Brave alongside Firefox on all my devices, but I've been wondering if I should go with something like GNU IceCat.

I really like google chrome browser and have been using it for years and I wanted to know would it be better for me to be using a VPN along with chrome for more protection? I had this would make my account more secure. Please let me know what you think or suggest for a service and the best settings
. Thanks

I use both Firefox and Brave. But brave is the best for mobile! :) Also its an amazing browser to set up your family (ie: non tech savvy parents) with because the interface is pretty similar to chrome, plus they won't have to try and learn how to harden their browsers.

If you could start from scratch, like no mobile device or PC, what devices and OS's would you get, and how would you go about hardening them? Your current course addresses people who already have devices and have to work with what they have.

I personally use cliqz. It's from Europe and has a great search function embedded. Also its Firefox based so it supports all addons. There is a mobile Version available too. And for starter it's pretty hardend by default.

Brave is based on Chromium.
Personally, I won't use Firefox (or anything based on it) because I hate the interface and it periodically deletes all of my data (settings, extensions, everything) for no reason.

Mozilla will be replacing their mobile browsers this year with Fenix (aka Preview. Will you do a review of Preview? I think it is great and shows great promise with what has been put on it so far.

What about Tenta? I think it's out. Any opinion? Same question for Dissenter browser.

How about these browsers: Epic, Iron Browser and Opera browser with free vpn? Can you please experiment on them or take a look on them and tell us if they are safe in term of privacy?
reply

Brave is based on Chromium but they claim they have stripped out the Google data collection. I would like to see someone do a privacy audit that shows if it is collecting data.
