both are shit for privacy and anonymity! don't listen to this video.
if you want anonymity and privacy:
1. buy a SH laptop, a good laptop that has a good battery and a good network card / cpu -> you do this to hide your MAC, in case they Track MAC -> to the serial number -> to the buyer of the laptop
3. get your hoodie
4. go wardriving / go to local parks / cafees / restaurants etc. something that has WIFI -> use free wifi or break some wifi passwords
5. install some custom linux distro on it WHILE outside of your home network
7. use TOR
10. profit!
some points are missing, did you catch it?

Question because I've seen so much conflicting information - is Tor more anonymous when combined with a VPN? I don't like the idea that anyone can see I'm connecting to Tor. I'm based in New Zealand too which might have fewer Tor users

Is there any use for a proxy? It seems between tor and a vpn that a proxy is pretty much obsolete but I'm also not an expert and was wondering if there are still specific tasks a proxy is better at

Is it a good idea to make a second user on desktop (using TOR) for anonymous browsing with no banking or ID info, and no subscriptions to sites such as YT, Facebook, Amazon, etc. ?

What about using a VPN to connect to Tor to prevent your ISP from seeing that you are using Tor? Since Tor can kinda get you flagged and added to a watch list with some ISPs

tor is way slower and much less incompatible than vpn and you do not have to trust them because everything is written in the contract = no lof files!

Sorry that I have no excess money to support you. I make less than $700. 00 a month from social security. Please keep up your good work.

Just use tor with a vpn, then even if your isp finds the unencrypted data from the vpn, it still will be encrypted by tor
