Lol. Rob, its so true! If you get a small laptop, they put in the WORST cpus! And, until recently, minimal ram. In fact, if you shop Walmart (Sacrelige) you see laptops with a tiny ssd like 16gb or 32gb trying to run Windows 10 to FORCE users to use Microsoft log ins and use online office and cloud storage. On the other hand, if you want a sturdy business quality laptop, its heavy and you dont want to carry it around in a back pack. They are meant to be transported by car for business travelers and work from home. I benefit a lot from the slightly larger 14- screen, so I use it with linux. HP has become Microsoft's handmaid lately. Any lawyers out there interested in a class action suit against HP?

nitropad by far the best
check it out, combine it with the nitro key. in addition it's impossible to mess with any hardware on the device by a third-party even if they have access to it when you login it will alert youYou can run Linux
or Qubes OS which enables highly isolated working by means of virtual machines you can create a separate virtual machine for every application none of it's encrypted but if you get the nitrokey the nitrokey encrypts everything If you don't want VM Linux installed is fully encrypted

-. and a back door on Intel, called IME (Intel Management Engine)-
Are AMD CPUs trustworthy? Or do they also have back doors or similar privacy / security issues?
I am looking to build a desktop system and run a Linux distro, and have an eye on AMD's Threadripper line.
Are you aware of any issues with AMD's Threadripper CPUs or motherboards that support Threadripper CPUs?
Thanks, and great video!

why bother with intel we should all go full amd now their latest backdoor found years later are we sure that there is no new backdoor we will learn years from now on? what intel did is not acceptable lets forget them and move on without them, i will never trust a -security- laptop with intel and nvdia chips on it. Also full open firmware and qubes support should be must if you are calling your product -privacy- product.

Hi Rob, great Video as usual. One question - how loud is the Star Laptop, how loud is the cooling? Based on what cooling is in there. And have an idea how loud the other 2 are? To me it highly important, the I don't hear anything, as on my Latitude Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7440HQ CPU - 2. 80GHz, no cooling, nothing at all. Can you give me some feedback on that? KR

But gaming is a priority for ME. Piracy of course. Anyone know if the Librem laptops or any of the others are good for gaming? They seem good for devolving apps and games so I hope they-re just as good for gaming.

Thanks for your work.
You are a good presenter who speaks clearly. Not so of some other youtubers.
[sigh]. Just can't see Americans inconveniencing themselves enough to be able to use a Linux disk.

When it comes to portability, I just love the size and extremely light weight of my Lenova Yoga 7. I wish the Librem 13 was the same size and weight. Now that it is 2022, have they made any new models?

I brought a new Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Extreme and I was in love with it, then a pop up saying -Intel management engine firmware needs to update-. it is now going back to the store.
