I am recently interviewing again and I was asked on the past two interviews if I knew sketch. I said no. The problem is, the first interview was asking about Adobe sketch, and I thought they were asking about sketchup. The second was asking about sketch, and I thought they were asking about Adobe sketch. The problem is I know how to use xd and I know how to use procreate, which are similar apps to both. There are too many competitor apps right now, I cant learn them all. But I never know which one they are referring to because its always someone who has virtually no knowledge on the job who's asking.

I don't tend to support lazy developers who can't be bothered to support cross platform. The reason being is because when I collaborate with people, I look for people with specific skills not skills based on what platform they use. This means I work with people who use PC and Mac or both. I would rather we all used the same tools to avoid headaches. I was considering Sketch, but it looks like Adobe has my back, once again. Also, they are a bigger company and can spend money on real developers to push the software to great heights.

I love the simple UI/UX of XD which doesn't get in my way the way other apps do, including just about every other Adobe CC application. I often use it for simple icon design and conceptualization. As for speed, I have huge files for the prototypes my company is requesting and once you said Sketch was slower, that ended my fascination. So, for my experience, XD wins. That and and you just can't dismiss Adobe's ability to both innovate and quickly catch up.

Sketch has so many bugs now its not even funny and they are things that you will only notice when you are deep into a project. Its quite frustrating actually. I actually had to finish a project with Figma the other day. I think Ill take the plunge and make the switch over to XD. Native prototyping? Plugins? Coediting? Component states? Graphics editing seamlessly with Photoshop? You cant go wrong with that.

For the last 8 months, I've been using Adobe XD and loving it. Has great tools to implement design faster. The new animation tool on the prototype helps explain the design better and loads faster than Photoshop and Illustrator. You can also open your PSD files on XD and continue your design flow. My goal for 2019 is to push away from Photoshop and Illustrator and focus more on XD for UI/UX design.

Why isnt anyone mentioning the fact that XD has prototyping capabilities built right in the app while with Sketch you need to use an additional app like InVision to create a prototype. I find this fact alone is what pushes XD to the front. That and the ability to create grids so easily. I do wish XD would add a hover state though.

2019 update solves all the shortcomings stated in this video. XD now supports Plugins, reworked Symbols and more new features like gestures.
After watching this video and few more. I think i'm gonna use Adobe XD, cause it's simple and integrates with PSD files better. Thank you, the video was informative.

Even at 1. 75 feels so slow. Not sure how much XD has progressed by December 2018, but as of now a lot of your info on Sketch is very misleading or incorrect, well at least supper subjective. Not a big fan of it being for Mac only, as well as its interface is ugly and hard to use - I have to agree here.

the plugin support is nice and good, but why i still use other tools, because XD won't let me use multiple fills/effects on the same object which can be a pain. on the other hand, if i could import my Figma files to use the new Auto Animate feature, it would be really good for my workflow

Leaning heavily toward XD. The handful of tutorials and reviews I've watched show that it's very seamless to the other Adobe products, intuitively designed and with the ubiquity of Adobe behind it, I don't think I'd bet on Sketch despite its market share right now. Just my take right now.

Although I have not used Sketch because I don't have a Mac machine but I have used some other prototyping tools on the market, i. e, Invision Studio, Figma and XD. However, for me, XD is much more preferable than the rest. I see XD kicking these guys out of the market very soon

Figma.
Use Adobe products only if there is no other option. Adobe was probably great 15 years ago but lately it became this moneygrabbing incompetent company
And Sketch? no. They are tied to Macs. While sketch by itself is not bad, Apple is just another horrible company

Thanks for the info, i've just come across sketch as well as XD and couldn't understand why anyone would use sketch when it come with CC, but given what you have said i will learn both as i believe XD will eventually over take sketch like inDesign has overtaken Quark.

So much is changed in XD since 2018. I guess a new tutorial is definitely needed in order to explain which one is better! However, I am more accustomed to using XD and I might just take quite some time to get used to sketch if in case such a requirement arises.

Affinity Designer. Sure, you lose the plug-ins from Sketch (for now) and the prototyping of XD, but you get most of Sketch's other features and the power of a full vector editor. And it's on Windows. For prototyping Marvel is a simple solution.

We use figma at our company and we can't imagine a day without it. It keeps everyone(Designer, content writer, engineer) in the team on same screen which is super productive. And yeah! I like XD for it's performance. Thanks for the video.

If you are familiar with Sketch, design at Adobe XD is easy cause tool basic are same, just slightly different with interface. If you are using Photoshop and Illustrator for designing ui ux design, you will be more struggle

I recently installed XD and finished one project with it. However, I'm thinking of finding a good alternative to XD due to adobe installing too much of bloatware on my mac when I installed XD.
