Chris great video again. This reminds me that I I need to clean my apt keys and repos I have kind of a bloated apt on my work laptop. I've been to lazy or busy to clean it out LOL . Ubuntu ppa reops do work in Debian, they just tend to bloat your system. There is only one Ubuntu ppa I would be tempted to run is the graphics driver repo, I know someone who does that and it works just fine, but that would be the exception and not the rule. I do agree most Ubuntu repos you want to stay away from in Vanilla Debian.

Thank you very very much for putting together these videos. It's really made me feel confident in my desire to stick to vanilla Arch., Not Manjaro. Not Antergos. Arch.
Why?
Well, watch the rest of these videos are you'll see why, lol.
Thanks for the quality content, Chris. Yes, it is true you can do anything in Linus in any distro, but holy hell what a pain in the ass just to say you you're a cool kid and use Debian!
I kid, of course. You're a good kiddo, Chris. You're always Chris... I mean, good.

Sublime text is free ..Kind of..if you don't even give any serial number it works perfectly with everything enabled.. I use it for my work. It just keeps saying unregistered on the top of the application and asks for registration every once in a while.. Abnormally fast.

Thank you very much for your hard work!
could you do a video on PPA:s, a big no no you say? why? there are several programs i have that are not available without pulling in PPA:s so do i have any choice then?

I recommend never installing out of repo software using the package management system. Just because you can do things does not mean that you should. Keep your Debian pure Debian.

This is great, I was installing sublime text but i wanted to know more about the commands I was using, funny to me to see you were installing the same thing the whole time!
reply

I love sublime text and can't replace it with any GUI text editor but every time i see those -PLEASE BUY A LICENSE- messages i remember myself i have to try vim/emacs

I've been poisoned by arch, i just like it so much. Debian is a great server OS tho, personally i would do a Ubuntu Server instance, but Debian would be more stable
