Hey Chris. Love your videos. I'm Actually triying to leave windows. I use my laptop (hp14v140 AMD a8 6410, 8 gb DDR3 1600 MHz) for studying. I use one monitor to watch video classes and screenshot the stuff i need from that, paste it in onenote. I would like your opinion for a distro and a -onenote workaround-. Used Linux a while ago but had to go back to Windows bc of gaming in a low spec laptop.... Thanks a Lot. Hope you see my comment.

I'm new to Linux, I just installed PopOS 20.04 yesterday night. What I don't get is what happens if I want to switch to another desktop environment. Since I've seen it downloading from terminal where does the previews environment go? Is there a folder where they get stored? Can I then switch between the ones I already downloaded in some menu or...terminal command? Thanks great videos, you're my preferred guide in this obscure new world.

Hi, thanks for the video! I installed Linux following you tutorial on my dad-s PC (it-s a very low level laptop from Lenovo) because Windows was so slow and the disk went immediately to 100% making it unusable. Now I have a question: I followed all the steps, and the laptop is working great, except some icons don-t show up, like Dolphin, and also file previews in the file browser- how can I solve this?

I have a Panasonic Toughbook. Currently I have a drive with DOS 7 on it, one with Windoze 7 Pro. I have another caddy with a 1 tb drive in it. What I would like to do is put 10 different Linux distros on it. I was wondering if I could use a program like Rufus or Yumi to do that. Or would I need to go through partitioning the drive? Any ideas lay them on me.

Really nice video. :) After OS installation I always started to install the GPU driver because it was more important for me than customizing the GUI. Sometimes it was tricky to configure properly my xorg.conf file.
I don't use Linux since 5 years but your videos are so cool so thanks for them. Maybe I will install Linux again at least for a VM.

Hmm... followed the instructions for installing Kubuntu, now the laptop boots to a turned off monitor. Tried restarting multiple times, looks like the computer is booting but after a few seconds of post the monitor turns off. If I tap the power button the monitor comes back on but to a dark gray screen then turns off.

Thank you for this very much. I have been thinking about installing PopOS with the KDE desktop environment. Linus Tech Tips had recommended PopOS for gaming and I thought about installing it but changing to the KDE desktop because it is a better desktop environment.

But Chris, my question is , if i don't want to keep the default pop os environment or gnome and instead just keep the kde one, so that i don't have to choose the environment when i'm logging in, then how can i do that? Any thoughts or suggestions?
