-Adam + Alaina - I hate to say this, but I told you so, If the infrastructure was there it would be a thing, but as long as last mile service is half assed it won't take off as much as people want it to. Remember you have #Bagofdickcompanies like Comcast that is rolling out mandatory 1. 2Tb data caps with 10$ for every 50GB up to $100 on a $70 internet plan. The Idea is amazing but in our market I don't think there will ever be a backbone to home service in America that can allow for this.
VR is exploding the Quest 2 and with a Quest 3 confirmed on the way, Valve still cannot keep the Index in Stock you are still on a 2 week+ wait.
VR I think will fully take off when People finally separate it from the regular -
VR consoles from the ground up made for VR
and When Microsoft gets up off their lazy ass and does a VROS version of windows that you can dual boot to through regular Windows - A crap ton of issues can easily be solved by delegating Tracking and such baked right into the OS as well as calibrations. People in the general public won't take it seriously enough until the chicken or the egg problem is solved, even with Alyx, Beat Saber, Pistol Whip, Walking Dead Saints and Sinners, you still need more to cater to a variance of people and companies like the new Medal of Honor that is just terrible, part of it is you need a big name competitive gaming genre, like your FPS military shooters, an OverwatchVR, RTS would be interesting, You need killer apps, the tech itself is no longer uber expensive for a decent experience, hell a RiftS is easily pushed by a 3060Ti.
I think if they took older games and rebuilt them for VR you could easily have cheap games made and expand the library.

26: 00 im amazed google has not pushed competitive games, you cant cheat! and every one is an equal client with the same graphics! no tick rate problems!
1: 16: 00 Intel may not need it's fabs but I suspect America needs them, maybe even the west. all the fabs in Asia is a big risk, all the eggs in one basket is not ideal.
stock people want intel to sell the fabs to make big $$$$ selling assets and cutting costs but 10 years later where will Intel be?
we saw it with intel selling there SSD stuff, short cash injection on the books but takes one of the players out of the market reducing competition and innovation.

I disagree with Gordon. I don't think Intel releasing an RX 6700 XT equivalent would be laughed at, especially at a lower price. I think that would be a big disruption to the market and it would be recieved very positively. Plus, Intel have the potential fab capacity to really pump them out and flood the market (speaking of loss leaders and adding it'snot at TSMC. If the majority of cards ate sold at sub--300 prices then Intel could steal half the market.

Also In January 1 in 50 users had used a VR headset for context as per the Steam Survey- 2. 13%, .91% used Linux, .63% used a 3080, 2. 34% used a 4k monitor, 3. 44% used MacOS
-Brad so I mean by that logic should you be using 4k or a 3080 as Benchmarking materials because the reality is VR has more adoption just on Steam VR than even 4k does let alone 3080 users.

You can buy complete systems for 1. 600 - 1. 800 EUR with a good 8 core and RTX3070, they are available in contrast to single cards. Some of them with B550 chipset. Many peope buy for example e-Bikes they only use for an hour a day or once a week. People buy a lot of expensive stuff they barely use. In comparison to that even an overprized PC is still a good choice.

I wouldnt worry to much about x mining cards i picked up a Sapphire R9 290 Tri-x OC that was a miner in 2014 as soon as i got it i replaced the bios with a pre oc bios from 1000 core to 1100 and ram from 5200 to 5600 its still fine 7 years on its in my secondary pc now was replaced from my main pc in 2019

Most of these -who cares, it's a cable- parts are made in an anonymous factory in China, where the workers quite frankly couldn't care less about quality or what happens after it leaves the shipping dock. They made their money, and now it's your problem.

Also, a -cookie- in UK specifically means biscuits such as chocolate chip cookies. So it's weird when i hear Alaina say that word in that context -

Hi from the UK. Great show. To echo comments made I've played ESO and cyberpunk 2077 on stadia and found both to be good. I can't get hold of a ps5 or a 3080 card at the moment. .

NZXT makes such garbage products. Happy to say I've never given them a dollar of my money. Always stick with established brands that make quality products like Corsair or Lian Li.
