Great tutorial! I feel like the reason so many people are confused by clipping masks is because Adobe (once again) makes it counterintuitive by placing the clipping mask on the layer you don't want to be visible. Using this project as an example, the intuitive layer order would be the text on top as a clipping mask looking through to the leaves on bottom. The clipping mask would clip everything around the letters away. This would make so much more sense, in terms of order. Too late to change now, but another example of Adobe making things much more confusing than they need to be.

5: 32 Thank you, that was the part that solved my damn problem. It was driving me nuts, trying to create clipping masks and testing all kinds of things. I didn't realize that you needed to have a solid background for it to work, still don't fully understand but at least I got it to work.

Awesome tutorial man, you deserve a million viewers. I like the way you do your indepth tutorial which help newbies like me to understand on how to edit on photoshop in a none destructive way and appreciate the small details on how to do things.

Excellent, but I am wondering why you say the word very fast when you describe things about using the keyboards like Ctrl + Alt. etc it is so confusing! try to say it slowly. but really thank you

Additional fun fact, if you want to spread the text across to layers you can group the two text layers and then link the image in the same fashion as you did with a single text layer

i cant do anything nothing helps i want to fit in image perferctly inside a slantted shape but it wont go diagonal and it will not fi its niotf air it never weorks for me
