Just a quick message to say a massive thankyou for posting this tutorial. and helping to solve my problem. I am using Photoshop 2022 and for a while it worked very well. then the problems started. either the program would crash whilst loading ( giving an error code ) or the program would crash whilst loading an image ( giving a graphic card error. I had no idea about this preference folder and its function. but now thanks to you my problem is sorted. In the Preference/Performance i managed to reduce the allocated space, disable the advanced graphics accelerator and click the checkbox that prompts photoshop to delete the stored preferential settings when i exit the program. I have run the program a couple of times since making the changes and it works like a dream. no problems whatsoever. and its all thanks to your easy to follow and easy to understand tutorial. Many thanks for your fantastic help: )

Sadly it didn't fix my copy- pasting problem. It started with a bug where it was pasting the same image no matter what I was selecting and when I deleted the cache, it just didn't let me copy anything, the fuctions copy and paste remain greyed out. Restarting, resetting preferences does nothing and I had hoped this video would help but it didn't. It's precisely a photoshop problem and it seems to be cross versions as well ( tried on a CS version, same problem. No such problem with the other adobe softwares though.

Unmesh, thanks lot for this specific video. I was trying 'path blur' in CC2021. Why didn't know, after opting the path blur, the pointer arrow was not appearing at all, though the curser pin was appearing. Tried many ways, resetting essentials etc. etc. and so on, but didn't worked. Got tired and irritated. Finally found your this video resetting preferences. Opted and followed 1st method, and it worked at first attempt only. Hats off to you. Thank you once again.

My problem was with the working space, coudn't use brush or eraser or else and the arrow blinked like it's updating or something, plus when I tried to draw with anything the position of brush shifted to the upper left like I was starting in a different point.
Solution - Change back the Scale and Layout in windows 10 settings display resolution to 100% from whatever you had, I recently changed it to 125%, that's why photoshop started acting out.

Not sure if it's just me but Photoshop has been lately giving me issues. Some files got corrupted when I tried to save, and when I had to redo the photo, I attempted to save again but photoshop froze and I lost the content again. I tried to set up autosave but it never autosaves. I've used Adobe for over 15 years and I've never had all these issues. Any suggestions? I'm considering alternatives to Photoshop very seriously.

I want to thank you for this VERY helpful fix. Out of nowhere my CS5 suite slowed down to glacial speed. And I am right in the middle of some Adobe projects. I even considered ditching my installed version to ope for the subscription service as I knew I couldn't continue using my PhotoShop as it was running. Then Shazzam! I watched this video and re-set my preferences. Thanks a bunch, my friend. This is great! Tom

Great tutorial and easy to understand. just 1 silly question. usually I use shortcut key spacebar to preview the timeline video, but now dunno whats wrong with it doesn't work on spacebar for preview the video. Do you any solution on this issue? Or need to enable some tools, please assist. Appreciate!

Hi, since 2 days Photoshop doesnt work correctly. When I open a new file and the white page of the new project appear, under the white page I can see my last projects, so I cant work! Is there a way to fix this? I ve restarted the pc different times but nothing has been resolved.

I am completely sick and tired of Photoshop crashing when I try to print something. The only fix I have found is to reset Photoshop preferences. Of course, it's not too long before the error comes around again. I wish Adobe would fix this year's long problem.

My Photoshop 2022 was and is working fine except for the CTRL + ALT + S key combo for SAVE A COPY. Before it was doing just that, now it's not doing anything except for the screen being covered with semi transparent white film. Can you please help?
