How to Clean Wrinkly Backdrops in Photoshop

we will learn how to clean the background by first creating it, using Content-Aware Fill. Then we will learn how to smooth out the background without disturbing the subject. At the end, we will add a details layer or a texture layer to make the new backdrop look more realistic. We will also learn how to add new texture or pattern to the backdrop to make the image more interesting

I genuinely enjoy most of your tutorials/tips, but what I could never understand for the life of me is why you always choose these easy examples. Many persons that land on this video are looking for a more real world (difficult) use case. Great video but that background barely required any work to begin with.

Hi, lets say if you want to keep the original backdrop after you have blurred the wrinkles would those lines will be noticeable? I notice when i use blur option i always end up with some lines that look like a rainbow in the same range of color. TIA

ughhhhhh thank you so much for teaching me the easy way to do this. I'm considered pretty good with photoshop, but I just couldn't figure out an easier way to even out the background without sitting for hours with the clone tool. You're awesome!

Thank you for tutorial it was very helpful however, my background had left a ripple effect in the background, I have followed your advice step by step but it just made it seem slightly awkward in the background. Any advice for this?

Hi but how you do it with backgrounds they have a print can you show this in a tutorial. For example a cakesmash print background. They almost came faltet and have more wrinkles. Thank you for answer my question.

How would I go about removing crinkles from a vinyl backdrop but isn't one colour? I have a wooden panelling backdrop but can't seem to get rid of the creases without making it obviously smooth

i love your tutorials but you speak a bit too quickly. If you could slow it down a bit so i can process what you say without neccessary feeling too stressed would really appreciate it. Thank you

You've got talent regarding presentations. Good luck further on and thanks for the vid.
In my opinion, there are simpler ways that eat less time, but as you said, this is one way to do it.

Great video, very in depth which Ive needed since getting into the world of editing can be a bit overwhelming! Could you make an updated version of this video?

Can't we use frequency separation for this? High frequency to remove the wrinkle texture and low frequency to take out the shadows and highlights in the wrinkle

The only thing I don't like with this technique is when the background is blurred, there are those light rings visible. Is there any way to avoid this?

You started out pretty nice until you forgot that it's supposed to be a tutorial, maybe you should show options on-screen so dummies can see what to click on

wouldn't have a lot easier if we had just used Frequency Separation with a mixer brush to clean up the wrinkles.
