Amazing, thank you. And what should I do if I shot with a flash bounced off the ceiling and there's only one very small (9 pixels) but extremely bright point in the eye? Should I remove it, make the pupil black and add another, better catchlights?

I have a real gripe with a bunch of photographers using a three light setup for headshots which are really too close together resulting in a triangular pupil caused by three catchlights, which is completely un-natural yet they keep doing it.

It is extremely helpful that you show what happens first, then why you do the next step (i. e. darken catch light in Levels to show why you activate clipping mask. Your instructions flow smoothly.

I love this method, but I'm a perfectionist. When you copy the catch light group to the left, you should redo the mask for the Curves layer that has the details in it to look more natural.

Gotta admit this looks awesome. But now I'm gonna spend 20 min correcting every eye when I don't get the catch light naturally, haha.

This is really great thank you! I think the left catch light should 've been a bit less brighter. But overall, amazing explanation.

Fantastic, you should have blurred the catch light on the second eye a little more because of the shallow dof
