This is a future headache for copyright layer, as it will open up a new field for intelectual propriety, the same way they did with their open AI for music.
If it goes in the same direction, it will be easy to generate some image in the style of a famous photographer or paint artist, or even combine different style, the same way with music they already can generate a Beattles song in the style of ABBA or whatever you want (or finnishing a song and create a new verse/chorus in the same style)
It's really awesome to see how far in can go, next step will probably (maybe should say surely) the video, where it can generate a movie sequence with different actors, like it can already generate a voice from a famous person. It's also a bit scary and we'll see really soon some legal battle with that, like in the early 80s with the apparition of sampling in music. With AI generated stuff, who is the legal owner of the creation? The inspiration image/music? the creator of the AI? the AI itself? the person who press the generate button? Mayble this will be some sort of end of copyright, or the total oposite and everything will be copyrighted (in music, some guy use an AI to generate every melodie possible and put a copyright on it, they did with the intention of making it available for everyone, but it could be really dramatic if it was made by a company with less good intention)

Not sure why or how but those pics look like they were pre-made and there is a huge base of this images. Not drawn but pre made in some variations by designers, so basically the program has some amount of shapes, samples and colours etc and it merges it, i mean i dont feel like it is scary for those who do designs or for those who create art, conceptually cool and rather interesting, dont get me wrong but it is great that we might have some possibility to create concept in some mins without need of sketching. Especially when you need to show something to your client who has bad imagination

Some people are saying these are pre-baked images he's looking at. They aren't. There's too many permutations for this website to have them all to-hand. So yes, these are being generated on the fly.
Second, the IMPLICATIONS of this kind of tech are staggering, but its impressive AF in its own right.

Well, they only have a limited selection of what you can combine, who's to say that they didn't go over all of them and created the images beforehand.
Either that or it's browsing the internet for images relating to what combination the site owners put in place.

The day will eventually come, and maybe more people will start shooting important events and other stuff in film, so they can have real photos to show and remember. Imagine looking at a picture and wondering if its real or fake, it will be so sad.

Companies will no longer need designers and illustrators as they are mundane jobs that can be replaced by a machine. I have never seen such extreme giddiness on the destruction of human creativity, by machines.

It won't be rendering those real-time, rather just presenting an interface to choose from all possible combinations of prerendered images. Still it's impressive that it did prerender the images just from words

Being the style of the illustration changes this looks to be fed by a database of stock photos, clip art. While impressive this isn't 'drawing' it is combining. Collage not illustration.

Imagine what this can do for modern film and entertainment industry. Being able to ask a computer to make you a movie for you, its unreal. the possibilities are endless. Go AI!

Yeah but those are already made. how long does it take for the ai to do it in real time? Probably hours for just one image. so is not just a click.

My first thought: if this works ONLY with presets which it appearantly does, the A. I. part of it can't be checked, you need external input for that.

I think that it's just a work of a filter like an advanced search, a hudge amount of pre-uploaded pictures put in a different categories

This is great technology, but it's not ready for prime time. All the examples are canned. Waiting for the real thing.

I want to say that the human mind has no boundaries, because of ''human nature'' they will demand it to do more.
