I buy Luminar 3 with Photolemur 2. Less than a year later they release Luminar 4. I buy Luminar 4 and photolemur 3 because I told myself the third was probably at the end of his lifecycle.
Less than a year later they release Luminar Ai. I just bought Luminar Ai less than 6 months ago.
Now they are releasing LUMINAR NEO! instead of at least updating Luminar Ai for at least another 6 months.
Seriously, they lost me this time. I will take the time to learn Affinity photo even if it is a LOT more complex. I know it is more powerful and they are not going to release another version in 6 months.
At least for now they are not releasing a new Aurora HDR every year. (I hope I am not giving them ideas)

This looks great! I just have one request. WHY CANT THEY MAKE THIS FOR VIDEOS! I am a filmmaker and It would be so amazing to have the same kind of flexibility, control and ease with moving images. I certainly dont see Adobe trying to do anything even close to this with their updates to After Effects or Premiere. They are still kind of stuck in the stone ages when it comes to implementing AI technology and doing anything innovative or time-saving. Especially considering the real time AI effects revolution which is happening on our phones and iPads. SMH.

Does anyone else feels like skylum is becoming a scam? It seems like every year they launch a new software. Why not update the hyped last year's version?
I find it rather disengenuous to launch improvements to previous version and packe them as brand new software. I purchase Luminar 4, then AI, not falling for this anymore. It's just over hyped improvements to previous versions.

Dont get drawn in Luminar Ai was a crash dummy. Many people lost money while whole catologs gone. Yet here comes Neo? Who is making money? So far no fix bam. Just wait until the lights go out. Wheres mi pics? Forget that get Neo its better. Wheres mi refund? Two Neos? But they both just crashed like ai? What next? Luminar if the Metaverse! Its in beta you know? Does it work man!

How detailed will Neo be able to isolate different parts of an image? For example, in the shirt you are wearing in this video, will the program be able to separate the guitar in your shirt and to put on a different layer? I'm okay with picking the guitar so to let the program know what I'm trying to chose. Or is there another Luminar program that would do this?

I own all of Skylum Products sense 2015 and this NEO rollout sucks. It's
great you fight through it for clicks but, this layout of how the tools
work and then the edit is different. The program is clunky. I am
disappointing with the development. It is becoming nothing close to the
promise. I bought in September.

Cant lie. Not a big fan of luminar. Rather than updating the software they create new software and abandon the prior app. Lots of crashes etc. that being said, Im very happy that they exist and are making these advances, Adobe releases updates ludicrously slow. Updates in the editing market are good for all of us!

Last years Luminar AI sucked and super slow. Made my system crash and could get through a editing a set of images. The concept is amazing, by execution was horrible. Look at reviews before buying. I hope they fixed it and made this new version way better

I really wanted to love Luminar NEO and AI but they are both just too dang slow! I went out of my mind waiting for images to download and the effects sometimes took minutes to apply. Please work on making it faster. Maybe I'll it again in a few years.

I just checked their previous version and didn't find it very useful for me. I wished that the remove sky option was actually also for all kinds of backgrounds. That would make my job a lot easier.

This could be an excellent partner program to Affinity Photo, I love AP but its missing some options. My only gripe is that the masking ai is only for human portraits.

I started using the Luminar AI. I have a systems ith 16GB ram core i7 SSD. But the software is unbearably slow and laggy. Can't imagine how slow neo can be.
