I had tipped over into obesity and couldn’t lose the weight on my will power alone so I used semaglutide for just over a year and it was life changing. I lost almost 60 lbs and my energy, confidence, and happiness sky rocketed. I changed my gluttonous indulgent eating habits and now off the med and the new habit of eating healthy portions stuck. I might have lost some muscle since I’m thin yet still have fat on me. Strength training suggested here seems something I definitely want to get into not only for now, but old age quality of life as explained.

I took a one and only dose about 10 days ago, using it strictly as a springboard to change my habits. The major thing I've carried over so far was cutting down my alcohol consumption 90%. To me that is a game changer and now that those cravings are behind me, I can focus on what Jeff lays out here, but that initial shock was key. That's what I'd recommend to the just want to lose 10 pounds group of people considering this. Take a dose, use that week to reset your habits, and then go forward naturally.

I really need to question those protein figures. 1. 0 - 1. 2 grams of protein per pound of body weight
Let's say you're a moderately overweight male at about 200lbs trying to lose weight. That's about 200 - 240 grams of protein per day. That's a crap load of protein! That's 800 - 1000 calories from protein alone. Now unless you're gnawing on a chicken all day long, that's a pretty high calories diet, especially for someone trying to lose weight.

I'm not really in the camp that says you are bound to lose muscle mass after 40 (or whatever random age people say is the limit. I see it more along the lines of everyone having a genetic potential that declines with age. And until you hit your age adjusted genetic potential there are still gains to be made regardless of age. I think that's a more accurate way to look at it and that is the mindset that keeps me training (and gaining) at the age of 53.

I can't believe that anyone that has any discipline and common sense would ever us these artificial chemicals when you can just eat healthy and walk. If your obese you should've taken yourself the past 5 years, if you can't walk sit and exercise. A healthier diet cures and prevents your current metabolic issues. I. e. I cured suicidal ideation, severe depression, copd and emphysema with a healthy diet and very little added movement.

As a type 2 diabetic, Trulicity helped me drop my A1C in bout 4 months from 8. 9 to 7. 4. while some of the side effects suck, having my A1C drop almost into the good range, in a short period. The nausea, and constipation kinda inconvenient, but my A1C lower is going to save me a lot, and save me from far worse things.

I am not a doctor, but I am an ICU Nurse who has extensive experience with rhabdomyolysis.
Rhabdo is caused mostly by a build-up of proteins in the blood that damage the kidneys. Muscle is made of proteins (obviously, which are released into the bloodstream as the muscle breaks down.

Thank you for the informative video brother! Gives me additional insight as I’m researching and providing information to the people I train! My main concern is in addition to the high loss of muscle tissue, it can possibly lead to a higher chance of certain cancers!

Wanna lose weight Take a pill. oh wait, it causes muscle loss We've got a pill for that too. but that causes cardiovascular problems Yeah, we got a pill for that too.
Don't start the endless path and simply train hard, eat well, and get your well deserved rest!

Nonsense. Ozempic is the best thing since sliced bread. Leptin and insulin resistance caused by overwhelming amount of sugar consumption makes it impossible for obese ppl to lose weight no matter how much they workout. Ozempic works and it works well.

Skinny fat is still an improvement for most people being prescribed wegovy.
Also studies have shown that people who stop wegovy/ozempic generally gain back all the weight, so its not really a medication that you're ever suppose to stop taking.

As a diabetic who just started your workout program, this is one of the best videos Athlean-X has ever done. Thank you for acknowledging the struggle of weight loss and the unspoken issues associated with Ozempic use by non-diabetics.

Our doctors say people don't come because of diabetes, they come asking for ozempic just for a specific occasion in the future.
Then he just says that this is regular fitness training and only like 5% of the people actually do it.

The published studies with semaglutide/tirzepatide have so far not included groups that were doing resistance training and eating sufficient protein. Weights and protein should prevent lean mass loss while taking these meds.

My friend has been taking this. It saddens me the person she has become because of it. I’ve been trying and trying and trying to get her to stop. Hasn’t happened yet. She’s not diabetic. This shits horrible.

A wise guy once said.
Food is thy medicine & medicine is thy food
Problem is, nobody wants to put in the work. they want easy & quick results which appear to be even more detrimental to their health.
