Make this your 2012 Workout Choice: What will your workout look like in 2012? What type of exercises are you going to be doing in 2012? Are you going to train like a bodybuilder or are you going to move your training and workouts into the next generation of training with sports training workouts. While I usually like to stay out of making predictions, this workout prediction is too strong to not let you in on it, as you'll see by the very early going in 2012 there is going to be a major shift in the way people are working out. They will be training more athletically with functional exercises and the goal being to build athletic lean muscle, ripped six pack abs, and functional power

wow. another cussing person on here that has to be vulgar to come up with a response. What is the deal with so many angry people on here that think they know everything about fitness-
If you are not a PT or CFT, or privy to any of the new research on strength training / length tension curves or proprioceptive training then there is NO SCIENCE in your opinion. His arguments are 100 % valid as it relates to functional Strength training. All you guys seeking significance. go to another site!

well I probably have more knowledge on the posterier chain than most since I am biomechanist and have had 53 courses on physiology. So, No my mommy didn't give me these big words. what are your credentials. Dude, just because you read a few articles citing the posterier chain written by some trainers DOES NOT qualify as science at all. If you want to know science, then YOU should go look up uniformed accelerated motion and kinematic sequencing to understand how motion and the body works.

Jeff, i just want to thank you so so much for this program. before doing this i had lost 140 pounds on my own and gained plenty of muscle along the way in the time of just 2 years. but i was just sitting like a duck with my workouts. now that i have started doing your program i have seen major improvements with my abs. i can see them a lot more and my chest is getting my cut along with my shoulders. Jeff, you are quickly becoming a big fan of mine. keep everything up bro. -Nick

Jeff, I do do different variations of bodyweight leg-extensions (along with hamstring-curl variations) based off of what you've shown so far. However, I don't believe that the leg extension machine should be neglected. I've used it so far, along with the -safer- leg-extension variations, and it hasn't harmed me, or my knees rather. I do NOT use the hamstring-curl machine; THAT is pretty strenuous on my knees. But different things work for different people. Happy New Year, btw!

dude. read what you think you said. you have made no case about anything here except comparing an old house to a 15 room mansion. You continue to make no sense at all and I would welcome anything you want to bring here and show you the science to back me up. No one on here even knows what you are trying to argue since you are content in being right about -whatever-. By pulling up terms like leverage, and posterier chain from your wikepedia knowledge is pretty weak at best!

-theheadbasher I'm sure they helped with quad muscle building and thereby increasing your kick strength, but I'm a rugby winger and I kick too. There are much better exercises that simulate kicking. When you kick you use a lot of your core and hip flexors, the leg muscle contractions are far from the whole motion. Leg curls are a highly non-functional exercise. Sure, they work the quads, but that's like doing tricep extensions for boxing. You could do better.

Jeff's training is the best. He is the most knowledgeable in strength training out there! -
Some of these critical comments by some of you is a little confusing. I have played professional sports and have weight trained and strength trained for 30 years and he is on the cutting edge. I have been trained in biomechanics and sports science and his knowledge of how to challenge the body is second to none.

all of us please encourage, the negative, - so -called experts- on here to go someplace else and be immature elsewhere. if you notice all of these experts simply crticize with no science and then get mad and try to convince through extreme derogatory comments Please go and be naive on another site! -
We are on to promote Jeff and his great contributions here. -
Thanks again Jeff!

I have never met Jeff at all, and all I can say is for some you nay sayers out there, please get knowlegeable about science. Do not claim that you are some meat head body builder and you know more than Jeff. YOU don't! . If you did, then you would have his background and credentials. This BLOWS AWAY P90X and X2. Not even close, Keep up your great work Jeff!
