The Complete 90 Day System: Stretching. Is it good or bad? It sounds like it's a good thing, but is it always a good thing? I'm going to show you in this video if stretching muscles before a workout is a strength builder or a strength buster. The truth may shock you. When trying to build muscle or build new strength one will often hit the gym and get ready for their workout by going through a static stretch routine. The problem is that this is actually the worst kind of warmup that you can do to prepare your body for the workout. To maximize the workout and your ability to build strength (and not lose strength) you're going to want to stick to the right type of stretching. A dynamic stretching routine (one where you don't hold any one stretch

-JDCav24 Hi Jeff, recently I received my Red and Black Elast-X bands, Can you give us a workout using only the bands please? I live across the road from a small mountain in Japan and I've just started running the very steep stairs and when I get to the top I would like to use the bands to do workouts, maybe one day heavy (Red-Low reps) next day light (Black-High reps) Do you have any alternate day workouts unique to the bands? Thanks again. Paul And PS: Is running stairs generally bad for knees?

As a martial artist, I find this whole thing you're discussing pertaining to martial arts in general. It is this very reason why majority of martial artists aren't bulky, but rather well-built, athletic, explosive, & very, very agile. Sure, we train w/ weights, but only to improve the lack of power. The physique is just a bonus. Glad that you included this in your system Jeff =)

Ive always static stretched before any type of work out. However, I followed the Athlean-X work out and the first day I jogged lightly, about 15 min, to warm up my core temp and worked out. I felt like I was pulling muscles during my work out. I dont know if its in my head but I feel like I lift more weight more consistently if I static stretch before a work out.

Hey Jeff, i just think you would like to know that daddy long legs are not the most venomous spiders and can bite. tested on mythbusters. episode 13 of season 4. the daddy long legs were able to bite through adam's skin and when the venom was analyzed they were not even close to black widows in potency. You might want to let every one know you were wrong.

Hey jeff I am a ballroom dancer and need to have flexibility. I need to be able to do the splits and do other things like kick straight up into the air because I am required to do it in my dance routines. What is the best way to work on that flexibility and gain the muscle tone, strength, and build while still developing that flexibility?

Jeff, I have a couple of questions for you. First: Is stretching between sets good? Example: I' do one set of bench press, and then i stretch myself a little bit. Second: I want to stretch my legs until i could do rope, and i want to do it fast, or at least to speed it up a bit. Can you advise me? I'd really apreciate it! Thanks: )

So i've got the athlean-x system already, I knew that static stretching was far from ideal, but I now haven't got a clue what I should be doing to warm up other than a bit of jogging on the spot to increase my core temp. Can somebody please tell me where it says in the system what I should be doing, or what 'dynamic stretching' is?

-veteransglitches It would be like after you play with a rubber band too much and it isn't able to stretch as much before it snaps, the extra stretch in the muscle wouldn't allow the muscle to contract with as much added weight as it could. I know a rubber band is a bad example but I can't think of another analogy.

-jjderango48 You have watched this and gained no knowledge. I have done the athlean diet and modified my workouts the ways he suggested and gained 1lb and lost 1-2% bodyfat in the last two weeks. Keep watching the videos though you might get that body you want just by sitting there and judging stuff you don't understand.
