Factor Meal Plan Can you really get ripped abs eating out at the restaurants? Traditional wisdom would tell you definitely not, but that's only if you eat out without a plan. In this video I show you how with just 4 simple steps you can make any restaurant menu one with plenty of options on it without ruining your chances of having ripped six pack abs. It all starts with selecting a LEAN PROTEIN. Be sure not to choose fattier sources of protein like steaks marbled with fat, fried chicken or fish bathed in cream sauces. The next step is to make sure it's PREPARED healthily. This means that you want to look for words like grilled, seared, sauteed, charbroiled, etc and avoid the crispy, fried, battered, etc words that will cover your ripped abs like butter being slathered over hot bread. Next you want to fill your plate with FIBROUS CARBOHYDRATES. These include most of the crunchy vegetables that you grew up hating like broccoli, asparagus, snap peas, carrots, etc. Finally, don't fear the STARCHY CARBS. These are a muscle builders dream. You NEED starchy carbohydrates to help your muscles recover quicker from your workouts and to provide your muscles with energy for your next workout. With these 4 simple steps you can take your abs with you to any restaurant and leave with them! It's definitely not easy to get a set of solid 6 pack abs, but it becomes even harder to keep them if you're not eating properly. Use this eating out guide as your way to ensure that your hard earned abs show all year long

I was a cook at a hotel and can tell you if you know you are going to be in a location for a few days you can get your day at least started correctly at the hotel restaurant. We had a healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu in our restaurant and room service. I would suggest making sure you get your breakfast nailed down to give you a fighting chance for the rest of the day. If you are on business you or out sightseeing you are not going to have as many options as he had most of the time. Also ask what they are sauting your chicken, salmon, other protien in don't just assume it is a good choice. Request the olive oil option if that is important to you. Breakfast and lunch are going to be your easiest meals to get right. Also vodka and squirt is at least a better option if you are in a social situation involving alcohol. It is alcohol and it won't get the look like oh so you don't drink. Then mix in just a squirt to limit the amount of alcohol.

Much respect, Jeff! This is one of the hardest parts of leading a healthy lifestyle, because so many of our social scenarios are organized around food. Thanks for demystifying eating out! P. S. how do you feel about potatoes? I don-t mean horrible baked potatoes with sour cream and bacon pieces, just a PLAIN potato. I-ve been able to make them work for me as part of a dietary plan, but no one-s ever been able to corroborate that for me. Everyone just says, -yeah, but sweet potatoes are better-. Any thoughts?

I had a chance to talk to Tyreek Hill, one of the best athletes in the sports world, with arguably one of the most ripped physics out there and asked him what kind of protein he prefers after a workout. He laughed and said, -Protein? I eat some Popeyes Chicken protein bro! - It was hilarious and I guess if you're in your early 20's and train like those guys do, what you eat isn't quite as critical. ;)

this is great, id love to see more videos where you're dissecting a restaurants menu while explaining why some choices are good and others not so good. I was curious about the shepherds Pie. Its not my first choice for a meal but when i saw that choice i figured it might be the lesser of all the other -Evils- on the menu.

I go to Cheescake Factory all the time. I just get a grilled chicken salad with no dressing and only eat a small portion of the blue cheese on it. If you do carbs eat the free bread! Eating a salad is cool because it takes time to eat it and you can pace yourself and get a full experience of eating without over eating.

I mean maybe he can do this and stay ripped, but I feel like it's too much of a temptation when you are cutting and you walk into a place that serves 100 varieties of delicious sugary treats. I rather eat at home where all of my food is green, white or brown.

Better lean proteins include tofu, tempeh, quinoa, lentils, black beans, pinto beans, chick peas, etc. All the protein, none of the cholesterol or increased long-term risk of cancer and heart disease. Good points on getting your carbs and starches.

No doubt watching what we eat and being fit is great, but the only thing is how thin the face looks. Jeff is fit, but the face losses -size- and looks like it's starving. It's like you fix something and something else happens. How to change that?

I love this. As a chef I always try to have healthy options on the menu, but people seem to want to change the less healthy ones. Accepting the menu for what it is and only small tweaks being asked for is what I wished most people did.
