I am sorry to hear of yet another loss.
However, this brings up a question for me.
I am 42. I was diagnosed in 2015 at age 34 with low T during a routine blood test that was taken. I was seeing a doctor about my poor sleep. Nothing was done about the low T. I have seen many Psychiatrists since and been on many antidepressants and any anxiety medications. They made me gain about 40 pounds.
I am off of all of them. My new doctor, after telling him all of my troubles the last 8 years, and the fact that I can't seem to lose a pound even doing every other day fasting, tested me for low T. He said that might be the root cause of all of my problems.
I get my results Tuesday. If I have low T, he was going to talk about treatment options.
My question is this: If I go the TRT or HRT route, am I just at much risk as these bodybuilders or is TRT and HRT for my age and purpose a different animal completely? I know these bodybuilders take way more testosterone than your average guy on TRT.
I have tried everything. I have ZERO motivation to do anything. Going to the gym, once a joy, now I just don't have the energy. Everything that someone with low T would have, I have.
This is also the point where experts say you have to weigh the side effects. Would I be better off taking or not taking it?
Any info from you guys would be greatly appreciated as I will have to make a decision very soon. Thank you.

I bow in respect for your ability share your humble wisdom and respectfully talk about such important and core topics of the fitness world!
You don't just mention potential dangers of choosing shortcuts but you also elaborate so deeply and profoundly on the reasons why so many of us start on the workout journey in the first place, and this throws light on probably the most important topic of them all; Why do we do this? We do this to feel good and gain strength/balance both physically and mentally. Inside and outside kind of, but really mostly from the inside. Sadly a lot of people get lost in a escape from the inside that needs the strengthening and balancing the most, lost in the outwards appearance and appraisal from others that then just becomes like an armour that shields and hides the pains and insecurities on the inside. True strength comes from within, not from comparing oneself to others or from receiving their appraisal!
(Non of this was directed at Joe Lindner as I don't know his journey or history)
Rest in peace Joe Lindner

Love how heart felt and truthful this is throughout. And it truly is bloody tragic that a person so young has been stripped away. In regards to steroid use - or any other crud - there's wisdom in learning from another person's mistake. The huge toxic culture of big gains, regardless of the long term cost needs to die, instead of people dying.
Jeff leads by example in that regard, and it's always proper inspiring, enlightening, humbling and just all round decent, to the point where I genuinely look up to him. That's a testament to all the positive and brilliant people in the fitness and health industry. Keep all the good stuff going, but seriously, give the trash that wrecks health, a sharp boot straight to the curb. Everyone is worth more than that shite

There are way too many groups and social ideologies that refuse to accept any accountability for their faults, actions, and rhetoric. You can probably guess which one I'm referring to being the inverse of the fitness industry. Let's not be them and refuse to acknowledge responsible habits. How can we say the fitness industry is saving lives when high profile personalities are dying from it? Foundationally, fitness saves more lives than possibly any other. But they won't focus on that. They will focus on our faults. Don't enable our nay sayers to be right. It's time to take a good look in the mirror. We are better than this.

It's true, i started to lift because during puberty i had terrible acne and after i got rid of that through accutane my body was covered in a lot of acne scars in my face and upper body. Right after the acne was clear for the most part i went to the gym to improve, to get more confident and to be more normal I was scared and it was a chore, i wasn't social at all. I'd say it was worth it but to be honest the inside is still not recovered and not as strong as the outside. Jo was an inspiration for me and i loved his wholesome character. Following him since around 3 years and now he is just gone.

I see salavation in the recent trend of promoting longevity and health by doing bodybuilding/fitness or whatever sport. The problem is that this trend is not interesting for younger generation. what they see is competition and who is on PED wins. wins attention. And here I think there is no other solution just a legal ban. for all. the narrative of guys saying. I used to exercice naturally but I reached my peak so I had to start taking PEDs has to stop being considered as normal or rational. sorry. society has to give up on expectation for constant improvement of human bodies.

When i was a young child a cousin of mine passed away at the young age of 16 years old and as far as i know and the family said it was due to steroid use, because of that i refuse to use any kind of PED because i have the mindset of it will take longer but i can enjoy it for longer too.
One of the principles i follow for body training is discipline and consistency, so if you keep consistent sooner or later YOU WILL achieve your goal and if it took longer, was harder the reward is so much greater. Stay healthy and stay strong guys

The problem that the ideal body shape/size for both men and women have gotten to such a extreme level that to be considered an attractive man I have to be 230 pounds of muscle at 6% body fat and be 6 2 with 2 million in the bank. I have to eat to build/keep the muscle then burn off the enough calories to stop from having to many calories.
You can workout and eat right every day and still be called small or average bc your not john cena, Jason Momoa or the rock size. But 180 pound women always deserve the best in everything.

I don't get it after training for 48 yrs. excellent results can be achieved with discipline with robust health as a benefit. Much of this all goes back to the supplement industry late 60's-70's and the publishers who learned quickly how much could be made with a juiced up look in their mags. People fall into the trap. too bad. R. I. P. Joe although I don't really follow bodybuilders and didn't know about him before seeing this news as I follow politics and what is going on with the C injections.

HOW ON EARTH can one overlook pumping oneself with steroids in order to get a body that one typically finds in comic books?
_Joe Lindner (like plenty of bodybuilders I know) had serious health problems solely because of those chemicals. And your saying we don't know __10: 15__ ) is literally turning a blind eye to the problem (possibly because most people watching your videos pump themselves full of PEDs and hyper-processed foods that will lead them to an early grave)_

Jeff, I have never taken PEDs, but the thought has crossed my mind.
You are an inspiration to me. Your incredible physique having been built through training and nutrition, drives me to strive to physically become my best self. Progress is slow, hard earned, there are psychological highs and lows. But visualizing through you what is possible gives me the confidence to continue on this path without ever straying.
Thank you. I wish you all the best.

Well, PEDs exist way before the internet era, and Arnold and many more who are ALIVE are the living proof that PEDs are a factor, but not the factor. the deaths of many bodybuilders began from 2020 onwards. even Joe talked in an interview that he has 4 shots and his dictarr said were a problem with the blood samples. he even got a plasma replacement. and people keep saying that was caused by PEDs. go ask Arnold and many others why they're alive. peace

I mean Jeff idk if you do PEDs or not but the reason people do them is to achieve unrealistic body standards. Let s be honest here, you re kind of a culprit in this situation. Being near 50 and diced year round, doesn t exactly scream realistic to ANYONE in your audience. So if they want to look like you and find out it s unrealistic naturally that s why they go to PEDs. So no offense, take a look in the mirror when it comes to this situation.

Jeff literally looks for every single little reason to target steroid abuse even to the point of mentioning it about a guy that literally just passed away from a brain aneurysm, and the only reason he even mentions it is to make himself feel superior because he s natural, really low and weird, and this will go over 98% of people s heads because only 2% of the world are smart enough with enough common sense to know what I m talking about

Class act! Powerful video. Thank you for sharing your truth. I agree the normalization of steroids and yes HRT is a steroid doctor prescribe or not needs to stop. People are on HRT bc they messed themselves up with PEDs. I think even Arnold Schwarzenegger talked about how bodybuilding as a sport needs to stop pushing size as it s too much I think this is hands down the best video on the topic! Mad respect to you

Nobody would want to talk about this, but Jeff is willing to talk the hard truth even if it means he could get hate for it. Everyone wants to ignore it and just pay respect and be done with it, but blindly glorifying these influencers on social media etc would only promote and repeat the same tragic outcomes. We need more people like Jeff. That is the hard reality of this industry.

the influencers play a vital role in driving the youth, even in countries where fitness is not as popular i see people in gym talking or using PEDs, this really needs to stop. I have been working out since 5 or more years and even i have considered using PEDs at least twice, all because i saw some guy who got buffed in 1 year after he started.

Amen bro! This is why I follow you! I respect the hell out of your advice and insight. I refuse to follow guys who use PEDs. I ve never touched the stuff but the other day some guy at the airport asked if I was TRT, and I was like what s that? Then a friend told me what it meant. Lol Best compliment in a while! Keep up the great work!

I know a few people that take that approach of using PEDs in a responsible way and I gotta say, it feels disappointing when I see them. But what can you do? What can you say? Nothing. Everyone makes their choices and it's one of those things that has to come from within, the feeling of wanting to change for something better.
