Get the HELL WEEK Program: After years of injuries, I decided to dive into the science of the mind-muscle connection because, after a few torn muscles, you quickly realize it's more than just having an internal focus when you lift. In reality, it's a complex process and the biggest issue is what I would call leaks. Either through learned poor form, injury, or coordination issues, other secondary muscles jump in and take over a lift. This video will help you fix that problem and develop a connection you need to build more muscle! #hypertrophy #musclegrowth #chest

Mind to muscle connection is basically the brain creating more synapses that connect your CNS to your muscles, giving more control over the muscle. The formation of these synapses has nothing to do with heavy weight/resistance, and everything to do with repetition and/or static holds.
So if you want a mind-muscle connection with any given muscle, do an exercise that trains that muscle with baby weights for sets of 50 reps, and static holds for 30 seconds for a couple months. Bobs your uncle.
Dumbbell ski rows are great for lower lats, which is a muscle most people have no connection with. Just put slowish ski rows into your warmup for every workout, 1 set of 50 reps. You'll feel your lower lats in no time. Plus warming up your back is beneficial no matter what muscles you're training.

People mistake me for ambidextrous because a lot of skill based stuff I just kind of learned myself. For example I'm almost even playing pool left or right handed. My left hand is better at most small movement type stuff. My right hand is stronger grip wise. But I write with and am mostly right handed. There's also a good amount of literature suggesting using your non-dominant hand will make you better at a skill on your dominant hand. It's almost like we get better at whatever we decide to cultivate. That's kind of the human experience.

When I'm really angry my mind muscle connection is about x10 than normal. If I'm raging mad (I'm natty BTW) I'll add an extra plate on each side to test if I can and to my surprise I rarely fail. On these days I get lots of compliments (and injuries sometimes) but I'm not in the socializing mind set. Most if not all my PR's are set when my mind muscle connection is at it's best. Interestingly anger is not the only way, some get a good mind muscle connection on faith, love and happiness but my gains are from my pains.

I'm holding you to that, bro.

I'm saving that for my 2nd set prolly.

Grip strength comes from the muscles. IN THE FOREARM. So focusing on your HANDS isn't as effective on turning up the mind-muscle connection to muster up maximum grip strength is it is to focus on THOSE MUSCLES IN THE FOREARM. There's no place in the body where the muscles and the place where their effects are felt is more different than the forearms. You could do a segment ONLY on the forearms and the mind-muscle connection.

The biggest thing for my chest gains: When I was younger, I wanted to be able to bounce my chest like Terry Crews, so I would practice while sitting around doing nothing. Once I was able to do that accurately, my chest training got 10x better. Practicing flexing specific muscles without weight helps a lot for when you do hit the weights.

I can re-assure you that these training programs are fcked. They're really hard and so good. I was in the special forces in the army and never really trained calves. First time I trained calves and I legit couldn't walk for 6 Days needed to go get it checked because I couldn't extend both of my legs they were that stressed.

Bro, I'm left-handed, there's no such thing as left-handed scissors in school. You only need left-handed scissors if you are using long-bladed or fabric scissors. You shouldn't need either in school unless you are studying textiles. And if you are studying textiles in school, you don't deserve left-handed scissors.

I have a problem where i dont feel the muscles on my left side of the body during training. Especially my left lat and left glute.
Edit: although i can feel both, my left bicep is 2 reps weaker than my right. Im 1 year into lifting btw

I'm not growing because my wife keeps sabotaging it, she doesn't want to see me get back into shape and she doesn't want to get in shape herself. Never marry an insecure woman, they will drag you down and keep you there.

I too am special with handedness. Write lefty, use small tools lefty, use spoons lefty, prefer to carry things lefty. But kick right footed, throw and play all sports right handed and use larger tools like hammers righty

The 3-4 week down time between you dropping videos is brutal. I go looking every morning for that blue dot. But when it finally hits the content is too notch. Informative, useful, hilarious. Keep it up buddy.

I like this type of video! I have atrophy in my left calf as well as left anterior dorsiflexion impingement. This type of content is helpful and I hope you make more videos focusing on injury, and recovery.

Whenever I do a bicep workout, I make sure to involve my legs as much as possible. It's because I believe in training as many muscles as possible at the same time. I call it ultra-trophy.
